Is that a rack mount?

Doesn’t look like it to me but it could be

Maybe it’s just a wierd form factor. Silverstone has quite a few of those…

It is a desktop case (Silverstone ML03). Could also use it for a HTPC.
My grandparents had the slowest imaginable computer (single core Sempron, 1.8GHz) with the single USB2.0 port on carpet level. With this machine, they are now in a position where a 80+ person can reach them.

Very nice. I saw that case a couple times. It was higher priced than I was interested in…but for that application makes perfect sense. Also a sempron??? They haven’t made those in like 15 years!!

That is exactly how I reacted.

The Athlon 200GE is a super sonic jet in comparison.

Looked it up…they were apparently making them as recently as 2014…but my guess is theirs was much older than that. Athlon 200 is perfect for them. I assume it was before the 3000g released. I’m looking between that or a 2200g for my mother-in-law’s new pc

Sempron 3200+, from 2006-ish

Athlon 200GE for its 45€ was perfect. All the GPU power they needed, ALL the compute:

Yup absolutely plenty for their use case. Also apparently the 2200 is now 40$ more than the 3000g…not worth the upgrade for my mother-in-law’s use case. It was only 15 last time I compared prices

Just saying if you have the cash a fractal case might treat you better to do the same job the super micro does

Fractal Design makes “nice” cases in the way a Honda Civic is a “nice” car, you will not remember seeing one.

The fractal case that nearly fits my requirements is the Arc Midi R2, shame it has top facing front I/O and is EOL.
The Focus G feels cheap (because it is).
The rest of the Fractal lineup… “Focus on silence, force airflow creating noise”

Agreed the only cases I’m actually big fans of are the meshify series. Personally I’m a bit of a Phanteks fanboy. I just thought if you wanted a simple looking case with really good internal customizability in terms of drive bays and board comparability as well as space for rads I think that’s where they shine

You have excellent taste in Waifus.
She’s my #1

you too have great taste in waifus although she isn’t my #1

Got a new monitor, my old Samsung 24" is being handed down. I’ve never had an HDMI or Display port capable monitor. What should I use? It will be a single 32" monitor configuration running at 2560 by 1440 60Hz refresh.

DisplayPort 1.2 or HDMI 1.4?

For 2560x1440p:
HDMI 1.4 maxes out at 75Hz
DP 1.2 could go up to 144Hz
For your resolution and refresh rate, it does not matter. Use what you can get your hands on.

Better overclock capability on the display port tho (from my experience)
