interesting set of requirements. my motherboard and ram have rgb. i turned them both off. my gpu had red only leds, i havent gotten around to popping out the power cable to those yet. so i understand no rgb. i think looking at those specific specs that supermicro might be one of few options available to you. any reasons why no window and no psu shroud? also is more 5.25 bays a no go?
Got a love/hate relationship with them. Price/Perforrmance Cisco has fallen behind a lot.
For our Lan (~100 people) at uni we got some Quanta and Avaya switches. Core network is 10Gbit fiber between the Quantas (LB4M) and then LACP to the Avayas (3x 1Gbit RJ45).
Avaya has a CLI that is best described as “funky”.
Recently we got a MikroTik Router and two 2.4Ghz WAPs. For the price, they are solid gold. Held up over a LAN where close to 2TiB were downloaded
If any of our switches were to fail, I would vote to replace them with MikroTik equipment.
My company is not concerned with price to performance that much in our datacenters lol so we get some pretty baller switches
no RGB for the reason that my PC often runs at night crunching numbers or rendering video/animations.
PSU-shrouds mess up the airflow. A PSU does not need the whole air a 120mm fan can push for itself.
More 5.25" bays would be fine, the trend seems to be no bays (which sucks).
I am the wrong person to ask as I am one that only uses Fractal Design, Lian Li or Corsair cases. Call me super picky, but when I get comfortable working inside of a case I tend to stick with them.
Either way, that case looks good to me, but I have a hunch the cable mgmt would be difficult. I say that because I can’t see the backside of the case, how much space is recessed between the back panel and interior, and whether there is sufficient space for tie-down points.
Arista got some fat boys, Extreme Networks also got some fun sized stuff.

this one is close, they have a no side panel model which also has no shroud. but it does have extra 5.25 bay. (picture looks like 4 but spec sheet says 3) includes only 2 fans instead of 3 for the supermicro but its 1 200mm and 1 140mm instead of 3 120mm fans…not sure how you would feel about that. you amy also need to buy extra mounting hardware for the case. comes with 6 total 3.5" bays and 1 2.5" bay… (i think…the spec sheet is kinda hard to tell)
i honestly cant find anything else even close to the specs youre looking for
Have been looking at the Enthoo Pro too.
Would have to use the reset button for power switch and leave the powerswitch disconnected though.
I don’t think I looked at included fans. For the budget I spent on my computer(s), it just does not matter.
That case actually looks a lot like the Be Quiet! Pure Base 700.
My concern with high powered hardware in the beQuiet cases would be heat build up. For average gaming machines, they would be completly fine.
Oh I agree…I was just stating that the picture of the super micro that you posted earlier looks a lot like the Be Quiet! Pure Base 700.
i happen to really like phanteks build quality and i think the expandability option with them is super cool. adds some cost, but yeah. also if that supermicro is coming with a fully modular focus gold its probably the better deal…
what kind of hardware are we talking here?
My favorite case ever is still the Fractal Design Define R6.
About 300 to 450W of power, so 250W to 350W thermal
yeah i cant even find a lower wattage fully modular gold+ rated psu for less than 85$…that 90$ focus included is a pretty good deal…if you drop down to bronze the only thing lower priced is old tech which really isnt good anymore (just using pcpartpicker for quick reference here)
i think since that supermicro hits all your needs and comes with that psu it could be a great option. you could also not care about cable management and get a semi or non-modular psu since you have no side panel
PCPartpicker is the best tool ever (besides Paint)
On the subject of PSUs, who at EVGA though naming a PSU Supernova was a good idea?!
someone thought it sounded better than super flower (the OEM) and rolled with it?
really superflower’s leadex platforms are phenomenal - hit really hard by tarriffs
No but looks like a pain to build in not to mention awful aethetics. And barely any room in the rear panel
I don’t think aesthetics are what he’s going for. No side panel windows, so it’s just the outer case to look at
Personally I kinda like the minimalist look of a windowless tower…
