PSA: Please keep your IEMs dry

I know this is already a given to most people but I just want remind some folks that are like new to this hobby, but reminding the veterans are not so bad either. So yes please, let’s keep our IEMs dry, never ever let a set to get too wet, for I have had experienced that with my old KZ ZS10 Pro back then and it was not good.

The left earpiece dropped to my coffee while I was having a coffee break at the time due to my clumsiness, and that piece was pretty much broken. So really a reminder and a lesson learned.

So yes the current watch case I have for my sets has every silica gel pack on each available slots and those help a lot when it comes to absorbing moisture from each IEM use. Also yeah, for every after use please keep your IEMs clean, along with its cable, filters and ear tips, then dry each part accordingly. Just wanted to share this and I hope this one helps.

Yes and thank you, for back then I am one of the guilty people who used to just use their own IEMs and call it a day afterwards, never realizing the potential problems that may unfold in the long term. That happened with my Pilgrims, just listening to it as usual and as the hours go by, the sounds on both left and right have become quieter for a bit, hence I pretty much cleaned it up and let it dry, voila! It’s all normal again.

Thanks for this tip.

Serious question: What size silica packs do you use? How many grams of silica in each packet?

20g, those are the ones that I currently have right now. I kknow a bit overkill for the size but better safe than sorry.

heh, everytime I get a package in the mail that comes with a Silica pack, my son and my wife already know to swing them my way. I just chuck them into the drawers where my IEMs are. Gotta keep those DDs dry!
