I am completely crazy with the amount of interesting iems that there are in the range of 300-600€.
Can you help me? Which is more complete (tonally and technically). Its use is to listen to music.
I agree, Xenns Top is very good for those types of music. Xenns top did incredible with female vocals. I sort of imagine that the ThieAudio Hype 2 gets you pretty close to the Top, for half the price
Thanks ¿What do you think about Studio4? I see Jay audio list shows Hype 2 as best all-rounded before studio4 and currently with 11:11 deals the price difference is about 80 USD
I haven’t heard the studio4, but I will say I would be hesitant to get an all BA set of you like electronic music/hip hop or bass in general. BA won’t quite hit the same way a DD can. For me BA sets are more specialist sets if you already own a few IEMs, not if you want one IEM for everything But i love my bass, so I’m biased.
That’s just the age old „BA Bass“ myth which has been disproven by many good sets by now.
Lemme just chime in and mention the Symphonium Helios which is an overall stellar, warm-ish set that does bass very, very well and doesn’t have to hide from sets using DDs.
A good friend of mine just bought the Helios SE, and despite him not being a huge fan of midbass, he said it was completely soulless due to the lack of midbass. Amazing sub bass, but no midbass. So to each their own. I wouldn’t touch the Helios, for that very reason.
This is all matter of opinion. I own the amazing Sound Rhyme SR8, which is an all BA which both hits way above it’s price point at 750 USD and has great bass. One of my all time favorite sets, but despite that, I still wouldn’t say it hits and feels as good as my favorite DD bass.
Again, library and preference plays a huge role in these opinions. My music library consists of next to no j-pop/k-pop and predominantly listen to rhythm based music that benefits from proper low end
Still have not tried a BA set that can be as good in natural decay as dynamic drivers. Due to how BA work it will stop the driver faster.
This doesn’t mean BA bass is bad, plenty of good BA sets now. Where BA bass excel is at fast music with complex drumming and fast transients.
Before you argue I have tried plenty of BA sets
SA6, RSV, Bravery, Anole VX, Neon Pro, Alita, Supernova, Ljoma, Hisenior T4, Des Ti, Meteor. Most of them have stellar performance, but still not the same as DD if you are bass addicted as some of us are.
100% if it ain’t moving air it ain’t true bass… BA mid bass when implemented well have got that a thing…kinda like a midrange on a 3 driver speaker…It’s all about preferences at the end of the day tho
XENNS Top and Hype 2 are the best all-rounders, TOP slightly better in resolution, but Hype 2 has better bass. Unless you can get the TOP for cheap, I’d just grab the Hype 2 since the resolution difference is not that big.
OG Thieaudio Oracle for vocals.
Simgot EA1000 for tonality.
Personally if my budget was $600 I would get these on sale: Hype 2 + EA1000 + Truthear Nova (use foam tips). Gives you a nice variety.
