Rant thread - share your grievances, not just audio

Oh, that explains something I saw in the past.
Barge went to pick up a load of sulphuric acid (don’t remember the purity). Previous cargo was red-dyed gasoil. Only water was used to clean the tanks beforehand.
When the barge arrived at the terminal to unload, the sulphuric acid had turned black instead of just clear. This was from the Furfural that got in the tankwalls.

Let me deviate for a bit from real life with this one instead for now that is related to audio. Folks, it is within my great displeasure to inform you that the 2nd batch of my AFUL Performer 5+2 which was the replacement from the first one I ordered, decided to die again. The left ear piece’s bass response decided to just die today and I was just chilling in my office, listening to it while doing work. Well my work is not gonna be much smoother since the bass is just gone on the left earpiece while my right one remains alright.

Yes, I tried cleaning the left one with Q-Tips and some alcohol but to no avail. I think after this, this is my last time buying an AFUL IEM ever due to this issue and it really disappoints me overall in the end for I really love this set. Time to find a replacement eventually I guess.

Moisture issue? A dying DD tends to be from moisture afaik, so perhaps try putting it in a sealed bag with some silica gel packets?

I am doing that right now, but if it doesn’t get fixed. Yeah I’ll call it a lost cause. It’s really such a shame for I really love that set.

gl. Hifigo is actually sending me that one.

Yeah, it’s dead. Even after days of it being left to dry with a Silica gel inside. To no avail, it won’t get back to its previous state. I guess it’s for real for me to find a replacement set of this, but right now I don’t have the funds for it so that can wait.

Yeah…I can see one factor for that at least…no filters besides the BA dampers is just asking for problems.

I’ve removed the filters of my Elysian Pilgrims but so far I haven’t encountered that problem of the drivers just dying after a lot of use. Sure I had to like clean up my Pilgrims after they were acting a bit odd on the right side and did the usual procedure of involving silica gel, but eventually it was all fine and that was the time when I am using while I was sleeping, and most of my IEMs are fine.

The Performer 5+2 however is the only set that its driver, particularly where the bass is produced, gets broken and this is like my 2nd set now since I previously had a first set of these and what do you know? Same problem as this current one. Yeah this sucks and I hope you don’t face these issues once you get a set, if not, I guess just don’t use it while sleeping.

The DD is the one doing the bass. The only thing I can think of that would just make that one die in particular is moisture and the no filter design is a factor for that.

This is my only issue with Explorer as well. I make a fair bit of ear wax, and feel an obligation to go ham with a Q-Tip on my ears before I even get them out.

So…apparently Canon designs their damn printers to be instantly bricked if it loses power instantly (manually unplugging the power cord or…an outage). As this just happened with my MG681
same symtoms as the people here:

While I attempted to remove the dozens of paper that was jammed in it somehow…

Brr.

this thread reminds me of Festivus - the holiday for the rest of us from Seinfeld show.

Festivus traditions include the “Airing of Grievances,” where participants express their disappointments from the past year, a Festivus dinner, and “Feats of Strength,” which involves physical challenges. The holiday is also marked by the display of an unadorned aluminum pole, symbolizing a rejection of commercialism associated with traditional holidays.
