Know the pain, had been there. Even worse when you are getting night terrors that is also a factor of your insomnia.
Am I the only one that gets triggered everytime I see a pc setup in an “ultimate pc setup” video with beast pc´s BUT they use gaming headsets from the likes of razer and/or portable bluetooth speakers from jbl as their speakers…
Unfortunately thats the way its been for some time. Product announcement > a month or two wait time with rumors > real release with actual independant benches. Can they compact it? Probably, but theyll say its giving people time to prepare, stock, and review products before real launch
Theyre may be something where they officially announce things when they do as certain things go public and they want to announce it themselves or theyre timing with conventions etc
You’re not alone with that one, also the so called Ultimate PC Setup is utterly bullshit for there is no such thing as an ideal Ultimate PC. Also your so called Ultimate PC is the build you have spent on so much cash, investment, blood, sweat and tears for it. Not some schmuck telling you to build one similar to his.
GPU rant…
what’s going on with the entry level GPU’s? Nvidia and AMD only have to be Intel’s best, which shouldn’t be hard and yet they release MX and R variants with WORST performance. and that’s despite the fact they may even have their own higher clocked dedicated memory while Intel is tied to system memory and bus.
AMD has some R5xx and R6xx GPU’s out in a few OEM desktops. the mobile market is better as AMD’s APU’s have RX Vega 8, which is about 20%+ better than Intel’s UHD 620. Nvidia has their MX series…can’t recall if it’s on the 4xx or 5xx series now, but they’ve always been pitiful. granted, most manufacturers only put in the basic version.
but c’mon! how can you let yourself get beat by Intel’s iGPU on system memory?
I hope Intel’s Xe leaves egg on their faces and embarrasses them to do what they should have already been doing!
BOM of the PCB makes them “pointless”
GT1030 new is as much as a RX470 used.
Intel hopes a lot. The inital numbers were good, since then, it seems it went as most of Intels recent projects.
yes…but the RX 470 was a mid-range card and needs auxiliary power, which the 1030 GT does not.
When buying new, you could get an RX550 on the red side or the GT1030. Neither needs PCIe power.
However, bang for buck in the sub $100 segment, used always wins.
Those very low priced $100 and under gpus are more of a trap for gaming and really should be used only if you need them for IO or to have a simple multi monitor set up on your every day desktop.
If that is your budget, used is your friend. A gen or two behind will get you so much more.
I was viewing some HDR movies on my TV today. And was really confused when everything looked liked complete trash. The colors were oversaturated and everything had this pasty look. It turns out it was because my TV setting resets to default since I used a different input. How TV makers can think making that the default is good idea is beyond me. I now see why movie industry pushed for a “filmmaker mode” to get implemented
I also hate default motion interpolation a lot of TVs do these days. Looks janky to me most times and ESPECIALLY with animation. I saw my sister watching Erased on Netflix and the interpolation gave me actual nausea lol.
Good interpolation does exist, but all these cheap default effects with a lot of TVs these days are not to my tastes at all.
Hidden tracks! I’ve never understood these. The last track of a CD/LP/Download is 14 minutes long. There’s a four minute song, then 5 minutes of silence, then something. The something could be a song, a closing drum fill, a conversation in the studio, or hell, even someone ripping a fart. Why??? If it’s important enough to make the album, why not make it its own track? Why the silence leading in? It gets especially annoying when you want to put the song that’s officially the last song of the album in a playlist or a shuffle; when that song comes on, you either have to skip all the silence or nonsense. OR you have to use Audacity or something similar to split the 14 minute track into mulitples, reassign metadata…annoying. WHY???
As if this year hasn’t done enough damage, now it’s taken Sean Connery from us.
I think he lived long enough to have a good and illustrious life, and yeah I agree so far this year has been in the pain in the ass for most everyone. Also, the fact that a typhoon is about to hit my country tomorrow, makes it even more of a bummer to me. RIP Sean Connery, for both of my grandparents loved your works as James Bond.
Be safe! Best to you and yours.
1996 my family and I lived in central North Carolina. Hurricane Fran past over our house still as a Cat 1 hurricane. An experience I will never forget. Even a 3-hour drive inland the damage was huge and widespread. I also helped with a Habitat for Humanity build in Louisiana after Katrina. Don’t really have words for that one…
Anyway again, be safe.
I will and thank you, and I am sorry that you had to went through that shit for no one sure deserves it. Also having typhoons or tropical storms here in my country are a common occurrence, since we are at a place where storms are mostly commonly formed, and we had dealt much worse on what is coming.
Yeah the industry HATES like vivid mode and motion interpolation. Been fighting for years to get something like filmmaker mode implemented
get some melatonin and if that doesnt work ask ur doc about something stronger. Insomnia/constant nightmares suck ass…
Kitchen drawers have T-shaped bar handles and they always hook on my pants pockets. Stupidly annoying.
This morning, I was listening to my Porta Pro and passed by the drawers. The cable snagged on the T-bars and yanked both drivers clean off the headband.
Well, I guess I now know the cables are stronger than they look.
