I stumbled on this thread and had a good laugh! This is funny. āThe Zeos effectā. I do like watching the man work. I donāt agree with everything he says, but the knowledge is definitely there and I enjoy the presentation. I actually loved the recent Halo May DAC episode. Kinda confirmed what I pretty much knew all along. Canāt hang yer hat on just one opinion either, no matter how strong it is. But I think he nailed it on that one. Overall I try not to let any one information source overly influence my buying decisions.
I love the different levels of rabbit holes we can all go down in this game. Itās fun to discover the different tiers of audio porn there are. to a point. $10,000 DACs, $15,000 speakers - super fun to look at, but for meā¦irrelevant! Iāll never get to even hear this stuff, let alone own any of it, so why does it matter? Am I saying that the 10K DAC isnāt better than my SU-8? No not at all. Itās probably way better. But is it going to SOUND better? Nobody is ever going to hand me that uber DAC and say āhere, put THIS in your system!ā Iām never going to know, soā¦ it doesnāt matter. We do what we can. As long as we are enjoying the music, man.
For what itās worth, I would love to meet Z. I bet the guy is a hoot!

Considering the current situation I would be happy to just go to a convention. Having doubts we will see these next year, especially for a Brazilian like meā¦
