Totally worth it. You made a good choice.
hows this against schiit Asgard, sins there both class A.
That would be an interesting comparison. I think the rebel amp is a pure class A beast but the Asgard is “sometimes” class AB but without any “loss”… currawong said that, not me lol.
Not sure if I would bother comparing a $200 amp to a $500 amp. Pretty different price tier for comparisons in my opinion. I guess if you have the multibit it’s a little closer but still seems like they would be different tiers no?
well the comparison would be for if its really worth this much over the asgard or if the asgard would be the better choice price/performance
I’m interested in the RebelAmp / Asgard 3 comparison. I’d like a less expensive amp for another location and would like to know what to expect from the Asgard compared to something I know (I’ve been listening to the RebelAmp a lot over the last month).
yeah its nice to have a little scope
What is the lowest sensitivity headphone and highest impedance headphone not to use with the Rebel amp?
I’m not sure the highest and lowest impedance and sensitivity. I’m using 250 ohm DT1990’s. I usually have the amp on Medium gain with the volume knob at about 10:00.
I hate to say this… but I’ve been watching this thread and I am very curious to try this amp and compare it to the Headamp GS-X Mini. I’m curious how they compare in their class A goodness.
Rebel is 32ohm @ 1watt vs 50ohm @ 4watt for the GSX Mini. I don’t know if this is a fair comparison.
Edit: even though I have the RebelAmp and like it a lot I do regret that it doesn’t have balanced XLR.
The sound signature comparison is what I was more interested in.
I’m starting to feel like this was the wrong choice for the HP-3’s. I don’t get to take it to high volumes because it gets sibilant fairly quickly (low gain, 10:00). The KPH30i’s on the other hand take to this very well and I swear I can hear it get better and better the more I crank the knob.
I’ve pulled the trigger! I’m eager to try RebelAmp!
Rebelamp back in stock, all versions.
after reading through this thread and noticing a Rebelamp up for sale on CAD, I snagged it. Should arrive tomorrow - will be running it with ADI-2, Cascades and Atticus.
Supposedly the previous owner has already burned it in past its 50 hour recommendation, so will be able to report back on experiences pretty quickly… absolute impulse buy, but keen to try it out.
On the edge of my seat waiting to hear your thoughts. What amp were you using previously?
Any recommendations for a better power cord (115V) to avoid using the provided adapter?
Mine shipped with a standard US plug. It was only about 3 feet though, so I got a 6 foot one from Amazon.
