Recommendation for replacement headphones

My old trusty Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro 80 ohm is starting to show it’s age. Plastic parts started to crack and break on it.
I’m thinking of upgrading. I’m located in Europe so the prices are a little different from states. I have Fiio E18 as a headphone amp.
Was thinking about Drop Sennheiser HD58x (after all taxes, shipping) comes close to 200 euros, Dekoni Blue, Beyerdynamic DT 880,

I was wondering if my mobile amp will be able to push Planar Magnetic headphones?

What would be hive mind recommendations?

If you like the ones you have/had I have a set I’m looking to be rid of with new pads for ~70 euros.

The DT770’s are pretty good and hard to beat. V shape headphones. do you want another V shape like the DT770? you seem ok with open back. The headphones you mentioned arent really upgrades. more like side grades. A real V shape upgrade probs would be a M570 or a Helios. M570 is about 300$

i’d recommend you take a look at the Harmonicdyne Helios. its V shape and really nice detail and presentation. 180$ on Linsoul. can you get that where you live?

your Fiio E18 should be fine for these headphones

would you go for a nuetral bright Sundara 350$?

When I bought them they were used at work (so I chose closed backed to not annoy coworkers), now they are used at home in a basement, so no need for closed-back.
They should be able to send Helios to me, will read about them.
Sometimes, I wonder maybe to get the same DT770 as they sounded good to me.

I forgot to mention the Beyerdynamic Tygr 300. been hearing very good things about it. 180$ and im sure its an upgrade to the DT770

I’ve never tried the 770s but the DT 990/600ohm is a great choice if you’ve got the power and don’t mind the brightness. If you liked the 770’s bass emphasis, the dt 990s have a surprisingly large amount of bottom end rumble for being an openback, enough to replace my mmx 300s…

If you can stretch your budget a tad then circa 300-350 EUR secondhand will get you a pair of LCD-1’s gtg off of a mobile phone/amp :+1:

Where? 10 char

Replying to me?..Make an offer on UK Ebay now…

but they do come up, just keep an eye out :+1:

Kinda-sorta-depends-maybe? I had an E10K for awhile and used it to drive Monolith M1060 for a stretch. You will get sound. I found the mids started to lose timbre (for what mid timbre there is on M1060) when trying to get to fun levels of loud, like around 70-75dB. The bass was present and hit but after moving to a more powerful amp I realized how sloppy it was. On your list, for sure the Dekoni Blues will struggle on the E10K. If you get the 600 ohm DT880 they likely will never get very loud. The E10K should handle the 58X pretty well, though.
