Return SHP9500 for HD58X?

I recently bought the SHP9500 ($70) a few weeks back off amazon along with the V-moda Boompro ($35). I saw that the HD58X are on sale for $130 and that seems like a steal to me. I feel like returning the SHP’s and getting the 58X. I heard that it is great for gaming because of its great imaging and fairly wide sound stage. I mainly play csgotryhard lol and listen to music as well. Currently using the Syba Sonic Dac/Amp. Would this be a great upgrade in terms of sound and imagining? Thank you!

I believe so, as it really good for that price for sure. I would say it’s a more capable headphone overall

yeah i would say that would be a pretty good upgrade and well worth the return. The only thing you’ll be downgrading is the comfort but 58x is not uncomfortable, it’s just shp9500 is unbelievably comfy. one of the only reasons I still use my pair tbh.

The HD58X is a nice headphone with a great price. I bought mine used and have been impressed. I used them for a few hours today and think they are way better than the Shure 1540’s.

Sounded Great out of my little Liquid Spark. That pair is a HUGE bang for the buck. Definitely the cheapest headphones I own, but not the lowest quality.

The SHP is pretty comfy, but i kinda dont like that its too loose. It wants to fall off when i look down like reading a book. Would the 58X be ok with glasses?

damn those Shure’s are like $400 arent they

Id say the SHP9500 also have wider soundstage than HD58x.
Also the tighter clam will start to get you after few good gaming hours, wont fall when reading. Can use glasses with both but SHP9500 is just superbly comfy.
So those would be downgrade on that side.

Got HD6XX also but i prefer SHP’s in games, every time.

The list price in Canada is about $669.00. They are double the price of the HD58X’s. I bought both pairs used.

The 6xx really isn’t that great for most gaming, and the 58x is a fair bit better in that regard

I know. Both ain’t good for gaming since there are better options.

Both the 6xx and the 58x? The 58x is pretty good for causal and mild competitive gaming (and pretty good for mixed usage as well). There is stuff like the AD700x and the DT880 600 ohm which would be better for competitive imo in this price range but the AD700x really isn’t that great for mixed usage (but crazy good for competitive shooters) and the 880 600 ohm is a bit hard to drive properly without a good amp. For the price the 58x is pretty dang good for gaming
