Pads swaps will always change signature even subtlely at times. Both materials the pads are made of and seal alterations due to thickness and materials will alter the sound of a headphone

These headphones are more pad dependant than anything else I own.
I had the brainwaves angles sheepskin on them and they were so V shaped and badly distant. I thought I hated them.
Just swapped to some perforated ones that I think came with my GL2000, or maybe some hifiman. They are too big so I just have them sitting over the entire cups. But they sound SOOO much better.
