Ty, added to cart. Guess this is an excuse to get a bright blue iem. Or for my fh3 :joy:

Reecho & Peacock spring 1 would look nice on the end of that cable.

@Rikudou_Goku what IEM would you recommend for this to sound huge (0:28 to 0:44 for instance) ?

Amon Amarth - Versus the World

Basically I am looking for the same qualities as GD3A, which I own - and thank you for the rec, but with a lot more impact on kickdrums.
I will try them again, but for now I have reverted back to DQ6 (foam, Final E, silver/blue KZ cable) and they sound cheap in comparison to GD3A. But kickdrums do kick on them.

Thanks in advance.

I dont listen to fast metal like that (Metallica - fight fire with fire is the only one that comes to mind that I have in my library but that is a test track). But you would want a DD that is very tight and fast, otherwise it is a muddy mess.

So stuff like the Tanchjim Oxygen, Fiio FD5, Dunu EST112, Sony EX1000 (EQ) would qualify at least with their bass. Treble might be an issue with metal though, as I would prefer something with a warmer tonality, so that would mean the Oxygen, FD5 and perhaps the EST112 would be out of the question.

And it comes with a beautiful brown cable that can be used on something else! I like the idea!

Or this one:

That blue cable is deceptively heavy… be forewarned. The IEM itself is quite interesting if a bit hard to exactly place how it sounds.

Edit or brown cable if it is the same as the blue version

Never heard of it. Just of insects awakening. Gonna explore later

Kinda lost interest in iems after land, besides mele and other cheap stuff…

Speaking of cheap stuff… Got refunded on my order that included gk10 and other stuff, but now they just shipped it… Lets see how that turns out lol

The EST112 is definitely fast enough and the high speed bass is not overtaking the gravely tones of the singer. Nothing too bad on my ears in the upper end either, but high speed death metal is not exactly my favorite genre either.

Thanks. It seems I can’t find anywhere to buy a Sony EX1000, maybe the EX800ST but seems hard to import in France.
Maybe I am better off trying the EST112.
Cheers

Thank you mate for trying it with EST112. I’ll have a look into it… For Christmas :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

The only thing is I am not sure if I would call it huge. It is very fast and tight with the EST, but it is very balanced so it is not a dramatic amount of bass compared to the rest of the music. What is there is really nice and technical though not sure if that is what you are looking for.

I’d say the punch I get from the Xun driver in DQ6 is almost enough. I EQ it a little bit. But I prefer the speed and tightness of GD3A. Which sounds too tight. I am sorry if it is complicated

You might want the ThieAudio Oracle instead I don’t have my DQ6 EQ’d (I don’t really EQ) but it is foam modded. The bass around 1:01 where it is almost overrunning the vocals is a bit closer to the Oracle, but the Oracle is faster then the DQ6. The bass is more tame with the EST though you might be able to punch it up in EQ… not my field of expertise.

Edit: also thank you for reminding me that I really should take out my DQ6 more often for a listen. I forgot how fun it can be.

Maybe you should take a look at GS Audio’s other hybrid iems. Since that DD they are using is certainly very fast and tight. So you might want to look at their iems with more mid-bass than the GD3A. Like the SD3 seems to fit that bill.

Thanks to both of you.
@TkSilver yeah DQ6 has its limitations but I feel like I will keep them forever.

Is GS only pure BA, Hybrids, and tribrids. Any pure DD sets?

No single DD so far. They seem to have more BA iems, so guess that’s what they specialize in.

Fair enough… probably my next IEM is going to be either the new Hana, or the oxygen. Unless BG’s Mele suddenly appears for sale. Haven’t decided which or where I am going to get it from yet though.
