🔷 RME ADI-2 DAC

Little Dot MK 2 with tube rolled (Russian) Voskhod tubes. I like it a lot! It sounded good stock but at high volumes it sounded a tad rough until I upgraded the tubs now it sings at high volumes. :headphones::musical_note::heart:

Didn’t search the thread first so sorry if my info is redundant. Just applied the latest firmware. Then saw they had MS Windows drivers. Downloaded and installed. Holy Cow what a difference in sound! I was using the Windows provided drivers and it always sounded good, after installing the official RME drivers, huge difference. Make sure you download the latest driver from RME site and use.

A neat thing you can do with the ADI-2 is run a “bit test” that will verify your computer is sending its digital audio to the DAC completely unaltered. My system passes if I play the files back using WASAPI. But it never passes if outside of that. So apparently Windows always is doing something with the audio even with all adjustment turned off and volume at 100%.
If anyone can figure out how to make it pass without WASAPI, let me know

RME provides the test files here.

In case anyone missed it, the RME ADI-2 got a really cool software add-on last year. You can now fully control and configure the DAC within Windows (or MAC/IOS). Setting up and loading presets is way quicker using it.
