Rumors and new releases thread

Ara and Andromeda have a good reputation, though. :man_shrugging:

It’s more to do with the labor costs comparably. Price to performance charts don’t work when you factor in things like USA labor costs. Campfire designs and assembles their products in the states which just brings the price of the end product up by a massive premium when compared to a chifi IEM that might be on par or better in terms of sound for significantly cheaper.

Well if I could I would had already gave those away, but since I do not have the heart to tell my friends they wasted their money on basically trash, I now need to spend even more money then they did to make it at least usable with some eq, put them on pc duty.

That’s a very bad look for Campfire Audio.

I’m sure there’s dirt like this all over the industry, it’s just not known. If there were to be a passionate journalist in this industry to expose all this stuff, they could make a series of books, and probably a couple hour long documentary. Yikes!

That was posted 4 years ago…what was the outcome?

Somehow, I completely missed that part…

I’m assuming it went just like any other industry scandal. Some backlash and a hate train, and after a while, everybody forgets about it and gets over it. As long as it’s not talked about or addressed by the manufacturer(s), it goes away.

2021 judgement

Knowles won
Bellsing has a lengthy US import ban
And
Nothing has changed as indirect consumer level enforcement is too onerous and the burden is shifted to the declaring party &/or Bellsing.
Corporate level B2B potentially will be affected as has new US based OEM market entrant procurement options but the small likelihood of fines outweigh import benefits to out of jurisdiction suppliers on the consumer side.

They “won” but not really. :joy:

Wow, 3 years after the Moondrop Blessing 2. We finally have the Blessing 3 coming soon along with a B2 Ti version.

EDIT: Ti version could be a dongle actually, not the B2 Ti.

Don’t underestimate the different functions that lawsuits serve - sometimes it’s not just about the commercial aspect which was never going to be the big picture issue when in reference to international cooperations on copyright and their understood failings. Any good brief would explain the cost benefit regarding enforcement and the extent financial restrictions would impact the bottom line on a largely out of jurisdiction business.

In the case files it was a suit very much focused on individuals. Sometimes making a person’s life much more difficult and restricted is all the winning that is required/obtainable when you know your restitution is limited elsewhere.

Corporate can be very petty
