Rumors and new releases thread

Hmm…

SIVGA has been an OEM for quite some time now. I would speculate that they make the majority of the headphone parts in their own factory. Also, doesn’t sound logical for them to use cheap drivers for their flagship (which is levels above anything they released in the past).

Let’s hope you are wrong and that the Peacock sounds good. Like with any headphone, we wait to hear what others say!

Sivga and Sendy are different tho, at least between Sivga P-II and Sendy Aiva, Sendy has been emphasising that they are not the same headphone

Sendy = Sivga

Claimed by a rep from Sivga audio, sure

No need for the inappropriate attitude towards @Rikudou_Goku. He supplied you with a valid answer from an official source.

I believe people can do their own research, but for those who are lazy to do it, here are the facts:
SIVGA audio is both a brand/company of its own, and also an OEM manufacturer. I have not reached out to Sivga regarding the Blons, Takstars, and other similar P-II headphones, but Sendy Audio is a company from Sivga.

I don’t know how hard is it to visit the manufacturer’s website and simply read:
http://www.sivgaaudio.com/about

Besides numerous articles, here is one article that goes into some more details about the company, and once again, stating that Sendy Audio is an official brand of Sivga.
https://www.industryweek.com/technology-and-iiot/article/22028229/the-trade-war-spurs-chinas-technology-innovators-into-overdrive

Blons, Takstars, and Aivas are all what I would assume an OEM product from Sivga.

I’m getting tired of people constantly separating Sendy and Sivga. Yes, there are differences, but once and for all, can we just accept that Sivga is a larger manufacturer than many assume, and that Sendy Audio is a partner/company of theirs.

On another note, I cannot imagine a company (and several other companies) pulling off selling a tremendously similar product.

For example, look at the Peacock. It has elements from the Phoenix. It is almost screaming “I am coming from SIVGA!”.

That’s my 2 cents.

Apologise for my inappropriate attitude, just questioning that an “official” statement from a company who has been accused by another brand of cloning their products doesn’t seem to carry much force, to me, personally. You could be right though, and no need to assume I haven’t done my own research. It’s not uncommon that these chinese brands’ international rep claim different stuff from their chinese rep, and not everyone has access to the latter due to language barrier.

I can agree with you on that one.

It would blow me away if it turns out that they are two separate companies, just doesn’t seem logical or possible.

Edit: Welcome to SendyAudio !

Nope. Even Sendy Audio officially states that it is a brand of Sivga

Yeah both state they are part of Dongguan Sivga Electronic Technology Co. Over the years I guess I’ve conflated the two.

From what I read they were original two separate companies. The owner of Sendy is called Wang Kaijun whereas the owner of Sivga is called Zhou Jian. Sendy came out with the first version of Aiva (before they were sold outside China and before Sivga established its domestic presence) but there was a period of time when they basically disappeared (in China), during which Sivga produced the P-II and Sendy made statements about how they were not the same company but a clone from an OEM manufacturer and Sivga claiming they were the same and/or Sendy sold the design to them. This kind of controversy is not uncommon, an example being Musician Audio vs Denafrips.

As to websites, I’ve seen those too but I didn’t choose to trust them because a lot of Chinese manufacturers don’t even bother setting up their own website, or an international presence so they leave that to distributors. Thieaudio doesn’t, until not long ago Gustard doesn’t so I personally remain skeptical whether that Sendy website is from Sendy themselves.

There’s also the possibility that the original Sendy did go out of business for real, and the Sendy today has been acquired by Sivga so they are indeed the same brand hence on Sendy’s website it states it’s from Sivga.

I have no idea what the hell is going on with them, my intent was to raise my skepticism that I can’t personally trust everything they’ve claimed on their English website when I’ve seen their Chinese reps saying different things within the Chinese hifi community (because the English info may not come from the manufacturer themselves)

There you go, much better and more appreciated. It initially seemed a bit disrespectful towards @Rikudou_Goku, who genuinely tried to help. It’s all good now, and hey, we get to know a bit more of the past.

It’s a good example with Musician Audio and Denafrips. There are a number of “dual” companies which are almost identical. Take Sonnet Digital and Metrum Acoustics. There are more companies like these, but the Sivga/Sendy history does seem muddy, basically it’s hard to find any thorough history records regarding the two brands. I am sure it would be easier for someone who is Chinese or understands Chinese.

Once again, thank you for going into detail. It really helps, and with you fully expressing yourself, I can now understand your skepticism.

Yup yup. The tube amp and the new headphones.

Wait a minute :face_with_monocle:
This looks quite familiar… Hm?

KBEAR Diamond?!

They might be the OEM for Kbear actually.

“as a group of engineers Dharma Audio who has a track record of undertaking various OEMs from cheap mass-produced earphones to special models equipped with dozens of BA drivers in the 400,000 yen class for 15 years at manufacturers in the United States, Japan, and China.”

Damn, the discovery that those might actually not be manufactured by KBEAR </3

On another note, would be interesting for someone to compare those to the Diamond’s. Perhaps the tuning is different?

Dont think there is any info on how that iem sounds like right now.

The Peacock is $1,799.00, plus 15% tax, in Canada. I got an email from my Canadian dealer. Yikes!

If I was going to drop $2K on a set of headphones, it would not be Sivga’s. But they are beautiful. And apparently VERY heavy.
