Hi ya’ll i was wondering if it’s safe to buy open box units specifically the thx 788 desktop amp/dac?
Will be shipping it directly to my country so is it safe? Its 100 usd cheaper

I have bought an open box sub from them and it was perfectly fine. However, open box item are a dice roll. You don’t know why the item was returned.

In some ways, ordering open box can be safer than ordering new, as it typically carries the same warranty, but has actually been touched by a human to verify that it is working as expected prior to resale. Cosmetically, can be a bit more of a craps shoot for scratches/dings.

I bought an open box Liquid Spark and it was perfect. I wouldn’t hesitate to do it again. And you can save a good amount of money.
Me too, good experience with Monoprice open box. slight cosmetic damage, full warranty, missing packaging but otherwise mechanically perfect items 2x…
