Same Name, Different Songs (No Covers)

I was listening to my huge shuffle playlist and came across the following pair of pairs [which turned into triplets] of different songs that have the same title:

One:

[AND U2:] U2 - One (Official Music Video) - YouTube

Drive:

[R.E.M has a song called Drive too: R.E.M. - Drive (Official Music Video) - YouTube]

This inspired me to create a list of such pairs (or triplets, or whatever) of good songs that are different but have the same title. Below are some I didn’t have to dig very hard for. They were all in my playlist already! However, I tried to limit it so that there was SOME level of recognizability. These are (mostly) from well known artists and/or have been on the radio/MTV/popular YouTube videos…

So that’s a lot but by no means exhaustive. I listen mostly to rock/metal (as you can probably tell). There are bound to be more sets of these when genres expand. So, if you’re feeling nerdy about music (and if you’re here, you probably are) please add!

I mean… if you pick a short/generic enough title you can find a lot of songs by different artists. Where I got surprised by this was when I realized I loved all 3 examples of songs with the same title that I could find in my collection:

===
Everything

  • Michael BublĂ©
  • Alanis Morrissette
  • Anouk

Ofc the surprise has been defused in the meantime, since if I search for that title today I can find at least 3 more examples, produced in the last 5 years, that are just run-of-the-mill commercial dance/clubbing songs that sound like they were composed by a music generator.

But since we’re here let me turn some of your triples into quadruples

I’ve got another one for Loser:

And two that I like a lot:

and the worst one I can think of

true but I used songs I knew but I’m sure there’s a lot of call me’s

I’m showing my age that Call Me immediately makes me think of Blondie and I’m shocked it doesn’t make you think of them.

don’t worry I’m a old soul just haven’t ran into them on my music journey yet
:Edit just added blondie - call me to my liked songs I’ve heard it before.

Not exactly-exactly the same title but I will count this as a quadruple now that I found:

  • Lianne LaHavas

And to extend some of the earlier lists:

  • The Corrs
