This is just a quick question to put out there as I cant really find too much information on it.
I have a Fiio K5 Pro, using the music player MusicBee (mainly because of its great features). I found an option to ‘resample’ the music when playing, in this case from 44.1k to 192k, will this actually provide any benefit to the sound? Is there any point in resampling? I am using WAV files ripped from my CD’s for reference.
Thanks
I find going from red book 44k\16 bit to 192k\24 or 32 bit to be a night and day difference. Sound is much cleaner\clearer and detail pops more. It’s just better in everyway to my ears. I don’t know about the implementation in the Fiio K5 Pro but it should be fine.

Wow cheers for fast reply, so even though the base file is 44k, up sampling to 192k actually does help? I’ve only just turned on the setting to give it a try, and it feels like its a little less harsh and a slight bit more detail, but cant tell if this is just because I changed a setting and my mind thinks it sounds different

I think it’s different. Very different. I also run HQPlayer though Roon on my PC and above 384k I can’t really tell a difference. I think I can but it’s very subtle. The filters in HQPlayer is where it really makes a difference. Sinc-M sounds pretty much exactly like a Chord M-Scaler. HQPlayer can be very CPU and RAM intensive though. Needs a good beefy PC.
