I’m considering getting a Note 9 now that the ES100 has replaced the headphone jack on my V20. Do any of you have a Note 9? Does it have enough power for 6XX if I don’t have ES100 with me?
What a coincidence - my phone is a Note 9 and I just happened to have an ES100 lying around.
“Enough” power… I wouldn’t say so. To get the HD6XX at my preferred volume you basically have to crank the Note 9’s volume to the maximum. Even then, I would say that the resulting music is… flat/lifeless. There’s just not enough power.
ah. bummer. How about listening to headphone reviews? Do those sound okay?
Do you have anything that’s easy to drive that sounds good through it?
For Youtube videos, it’s acceptable. I don’t have any easier headphones to drive at the moment, though I have an E-mu Teak and KPH30i at home to test with it f you want.
