As a side note to the Asgard X release, there is also a Mesh DAC card that is similar to the Mimir available for $150. It will work with older modular amps from their lineup (check the site for more details). As a Mimir owner, if it is close to the sound of the Mimir it would be a great upgrade for Asgard 3 and Jot 2 owners.

Looks like I got more Schiit to do. Just finished Gungnir 2 review. Mimir is still in box, lol. Been talking to them about Valhalla 3. Now I gotta bug them about Asgard X.

Yet if you use it for travel, would it not be the Schiit Audio Lavatory?

I saw this one pop up when I was browsing yesterday. It looks neat and I think there is a good use case to having a SS amp in the mix. I was also thinking about trying the Valhalla 3 but I just love the Vali 3 so much right now, all I really need tbh. Maybe just a smidge more regulated plate voltage (bumped to 150-200) and I think thatâs all it really needs for my wishlist of things. Ultimately, I think I am going to hold out for the Vali 4 (2-3 years?) butâŚweâll see what the future holds.

Nothing wrong with that, I will be trying some of my tubes I get for the Valhalla 3 in the Vali 3 as well. Vali 3 is a very enjoyable amp.
