alright man, I appreciate it thank you very much for your opinions.

I will look at them thank you!

I think for your music DT 770 + Dac & Amp is a good way to go. For a real new experience I’d probably go for open back tho, DT 990 600 Ohm is fine with maybe some burn-in, eq or some extra foam incase your treble sensitive.
I don’t think its worth to only buy a headphone with your money as the source matters as well, thus you might add that later. Just something to keep in mind.

yeah that is my plan to get the dac/amp later so i can focus on something nicer. But if dt990 doesnt fall behind vs a more expensive headphone then i think your suggestion might be good.

yeah the thing with the dt 990 is that you should really aim for the 600 ohm version which does not really work without an amp. A Magni 3+ or Liquid Spark is perfekt with it. In total still only ~250 $.
I don’t think it falls behind the Dt 770. I have both and I like the 990 way better, because of the open presentation. So I’d go that way unless you really want that low base under let’s say 60Hz or need the seal of a closed back headphone.
I can’t compare to the Zeus tho, but I’d be interested to know more because I am also considering getting one for myself.

yeahh maybe you could even amp it with the zen dac which has bass boost, but overall i should take some time to think about it.

Hey bud, maybe check out the monolith m1060c’s. They’re great for watching videos and gaming. They’re around $300-350. They got some bass being closed back and all, but they’re also planar so they’re pretty low distortion wise. Check em’ out if you haven’t already.

I have a pair and they’re great, but quality control isn’t something monoprice is known for so maybe buy from amazon for the free returns in case you get a shoddy pair. Although buying them from monoprice is a tad cheaper.

Also I recommend them for the sound, the head band might give you some issues though. Hope this helps.

***edit: also they’re super easy to drive in case that is a concern.

Hello. For $299.00, you can get the:

  1. Meze 99 Classic’s. My favourite closed backs for a few years with a nice bass kick.

  2. Grado GH2’s. A little bright but my entry into Grado’s. They are a love it or hate it kind of headphone but there are lots of dealers to try them out at.

  3. The Fostex T60RP’s are great headphones, but they are a PIG to drive.

  4. And at a super price point, the HD58X’s are a very nice headphone with a Very nice bass kick.

Those are the first four that come to mind for a great price.

I didnt know about them. I well check them out thanks!

yeahh it will be a tough one to settle to one pair haha. Thank you!!

Bought Verum 1 couple of days ago
they seem like the perfect 350$ headphone (for me) dispite the long shipping times.
i think you should take a look at them.

alright man thank youu!
