Sennheiser HD 599 vs Beyerdynamic tygr 300 r

Hi everyone,

i was thinking about buying the tygr 300r for 120€ (reconditioned) and pay 20€ for shipping to Spain and from Spain to Portugal. (beyerdinamic only ships for a handful of countries in europe, go figure…). RMA will be difficult too

But amazon has the hd599 on sale for 99€ with free shipping (Pay for shipping??! smacking the table)
Is really worth all the hassle to buy the tygrs over the hd599. Are they really that much better.

Thanks for the help
Best regards

Different signatures though both are good. HD 599 is a pretty neutral headphone with a fairly decent sized soundstage it sounds nice with quite a bit of detail to it. Tygr on the other hand is bassier with the treble being slightly raised and sounds warmer and smoother with a wide speaker like presentation to it. So, depends on what sounds best to you personally. Is it worth the hassle? Well, I own the HD 598 which is very similar to the 599s and I also own the tygrs however, I pick up my tygrs more than I do my 598s due to the better comfort and relaxing laid back sound they provide. Both are great for all rounder use it’s more along the lines of if you want a bassier slightly more detailed headphone with a much wider sound signature you go with the tygrs and if you want a more neutral sounding headphone with a moderate size sound signature with nothing sounding really raised in the mix then you go 599. A budget alternative to those Tygrs is the Fidelio X2 HR from philips. Fairly similar but bassier(slightly muddy)

I pulled the trigger on the Hd599. It’s the more secure buy and a pretty good performer too. The 599, its a pretty good canvas were i can EQ it
I know this isn’t my last headphone… i know in what waters i’m stepping in

Thank you for the help
