Here’s a question I have about the 58X and the NDH-20. There are both 38mm 150ohm drivers from Sennheiser. Is the NDH-20 driver related in any way or is it just a coincidence?
I don’t believe they are related to each other, but who knows

Im pretty sure there are different variations of this driver. The cheapest one being in the 559 although that one is a lower impedance and higher sensitivity. Still a similar design to the 150ohm version
I thought the NDH-20 was based on the 630 or 660 driver.
No clue about the HD630vb driver but I know the HD660s has a 40mm driver while the NDH-20 have a 38mm driver (like the HD58X and some other Senns).
You can tell that they are related, but no that really don’t sound that much alike. I think the 6XX sound better than the 58X, and the 660s sound better than both by quite a margin. The 660s are quite amp picky though. I am trying to find a better match for my pair right now. The 58X are the best buy in that price range for sure (based on what I’ve heard).
