Yeah, makes it a little cramped and a little noisy, but worth it.
Sick set up, love the steering wheel there too. Just generally a dope set up
Orā¦ does desktop mean that the desk should be on top?
Only if you live in Australia?
Iām finally good for now, I keep telling myself somethingās gotta go in order for a new piece to come in. This has been allot of fun, itās a bitch to get wired but I managed.
How are you liking the adcom with the 6se? Pretty sweet setup (and more desk space now for a 2nd rack lol)
Iāve really not had a chance to spend more than a short while with it yet. The power is there, there is a small bit of background hiss at zero db volume, not sure if that is just age or that itās picking up noise from somewhere in the signal path. It pushes the headphones and speakers effortlessly and there is a ton of headroom. I really have not had a chance to A/B it against the Emotivaās tho, it took me all day to wire this up. Once i have had some time to really listen Iāll post my opinions of the Adcom and the system as a whole. There is allot of flexibility the way i wired this up, i really impressed myself
I need a rack like this.
It really helped get me back a few inches of desk space but more importantly it allowed me to better wire everything. Now there is no pressure on any of the connections and I can access each piece in a safer manner. It also allowed me to add additional power plugs in a much more convenient spot. Only thing I donāt like is that the music now sounds like itās coming from behind the rack, itās a weird sensation. I may move it to the floor on the left side of the desk if i canāt get past the weird sensation of music coming from behind and within the equipment itself.
Absolutely beautiful setup. The cables look scary tho lol, so many.
The equipment looks great but even more nice are the amount of LPs there. Solid collection
What make and model subwoofer are you using?
I started rebuilding my vinyl collection almost a year ago. Iām not sure how many albums I have now, probably 350ish. Plenty to keep me busy for a bit. I probably pick up about 10 per month. Do you listen to vinyl?
Iām using a PB 100. It was made by Solid. B&W did the design. It performs pretty good in my small room and matches pretty well with my B&W speakers. I have a Miller & Kreisler sub also, but I am using that in a M&K setup at the moment. However, I might put it back in this setup in the future. I have a pair of Solid monitors also that I use on my desk. They sound amazing near field, but rock a small room pretty damn well for a 4ā driver.

350 is alot considering you started rebuilding it a year ago! And I donāt but itās not because I donāt want to. Just that I donāt have a turntable and most of the artists I tend to listen to only do cds. But boy believe you me that I want to and eventually I probably will starting with artists I know do like kishi bashi, Dj Okawari maybe one Nujabes (since those are crazy expensive). Do you try to get multiple albums per artist?
I do collect cds however. They tend to be at least 10 dollars cheaper than vinyl. And I am able to rip the songs too. Itās a small collection
Often I have several albums of an artist. It does get expensive. I also have a pretty big CD collection. Iām not sure how many since I havenāt catalogued them all yet. I use Discogs to keep track of my music. I need to sit down and catalog the rest of my CDs. I buy CDs at the Goodwill second hand store for $1.00 each. I keep a lot at work because our network restricts streaming.
Here is my collection that is catalogued so far:
Oh man that is a big ass collection. Never heard of this website, pretty cool to note down stuff you own. And yeah with your music I can see how they would be found in stores, goodwill and stuff specially since alot of it is older stuff. Most of my music is really new, niche or old Mexican stuff so I canāt really find it at such prices haha. But then again you buy alot more so it makes sense
