Thanks for the heads up.

The Valhalla 3 page says not to exceed 2.7A total heater current. The two 6SN7s should be around 1.2A if am correct. It is probably at max load between the power tubes and the 6SN7s.

Edit: For the record, this is my first OTL Tube amp, and only my second ever tube amp including the Vali 3. So any pointers, warnings, and/or recommendations are always welcome.

Good. I think 6SN7s use ~300mA at 6.3V for the heater and <20mA for the anode, each tube total, but the voltage could be different. Seems you have some decent over head as long as the power tubes are stock or equiv

Nice, good to know.
Schiit Audio suggests leaving the power tubes stock (granted I am sure some do not follow this suggestion). Seeing what people have tried in their Vali 3, I suspect some wild tube rolling going on in the near future.

I just enjoy my time

I wish that Sunset Boulevard colorway on the Meze was available on other headphones. That’s hands down my pick for best looking headphone ever. Up close they’re just absolutely gorgeous.

So how does the Euforia compare to the HA-3A?

My present end game are the fabulouss ISN EBC80…cant get enough of their gigantic VR headset like warm panoramic holographic musicality…i get rid of UM Mest MK3 cause of those…since suddenly MK3 sound super in my head. EBC80 soundscape is so vast, it’s not a clinical analytical bright IEM with BC…very unique musicality.

Out of the box, the Euforia, with its stock tubes, is a very clean and spacious-sounding amplifier, more reminiscent of a very good solid-state amp than a tube amp, just with a larger soundstage, which I like exactly as it is.

With the AO‘s or the Clear OG’s for example.

The A-3 is a powerhouse, which I’ve tuned to my exact needs with a variety of tubes. Both are highly recommended, and for someone like me who owns a variety of headphones, I use both with different sound settings.

Nice,

I see the matched pair of PSVANE tubes there. Been told by several people that the PSVANE Horizon 12AT7-AT tubes are good, and I will be picking up a pair for my Valhalla 3 once the adapters arrive. I will be sure to try them with my AO first.

Yep, for whatever reason, Psvane tubes work very well with ZMFs.

This is precisely why I loaded my TA-20 Plus entirely with Psvane tubes, specifically to make the VO shine.

It seems a bit crazy when the tubes cost exactly as much as the amp, but it works great.

I already made peace with the fact that tube rolling costs more that the amp itself in nearly all cases. In my case I will also have to brace myself for when I make my ZMF Aegis purchase next year.

:+1::laughing: the Aegis is exactly my next target :bangbang:

Yeah, it is one hell of an amp from what has been conveyed to me. I am planning on grabbing a CO this year otherwise I would be buying the Aegis sooner. It will be my 2nd ZMF purchase as I only started buying from ZMF last year. I guess you can tell that the AO purchase made quite the impression on me.

One of the guys I chat with on another forum has the Yggdrasil+ MIB paired with the Aegis DIY and swears by it. I already have the Yggy, so one part of the pairing is already acquired.

I think I have already found my solution too

Another very nice DAC indeed.

A good R2R or MB DAC is always a good choice IMO.

I got Thor’s Hammer on standby, so I am set.

I think ZMF Headphones just pair well with Class A amps in general. CO being a planar it just responds better to SS amps (with a few exceptions). On paper Mjolnir 3 has “less power” than other amps, but it hits harder than its 2 watts would lead you to believe.

So, R2R/MB DAC (check), OTL Tube Amp (Check, until Aegis), and Beefy Class A SS Amp (Check).

Thanks for the reply! I see you also have an S17 Pro (which I also have and think is great). In your opinion, does it hold its own against all that fancy tube gear or do you just have it because you want some solid state for when you need it but for serious listening you use the tubes?
