Yes both are very similar to the DM2, same driver very likely although there may have been a revision at some point. It’s seemingly impossible to tune the current drivers back to the OG DM.

Paul Wasabi (go look at his youtube channel!) sent me a bunch of iems to test. Dunu Brain Dance sucks, all in my face, too much of everything, no nuances and too much after a few mins. Kiwi Ears latest planar is crap, very compressed and crunchy sounding. BAD. Crins Meta has pushed treble and although sounds reasonable its not correct and isn’t 3D or swirly and thus nope. Also got dusk which is meh, V shaped and flat sounding non 3D. Ziggat Odyssey is cool i dig it and the Letshouer Mystic 8 is SEXY TIME ZOMG, this is my thing.
Get a Mystic 8 is the take away.

Never heard the Jupiter unfortunately but based on the reviews I’ve read, that looks awesome. The Anomaly is becoming more and more intriguing by the day.

this may be the final version. I did a lot of testing with high volume, many tracks. I find this fairly ideal in all aspects. The treble has air and bite to it but not too much. Bass is like holy #$@#$, amazing.
It took me a few mins to build the set, which is ideal, no messing around. It has 4 hemholtz resonators, 2 ported tubes for pressure relief and tuning.
That is actually the 270th revision. F my life.

Are you documenting the tuning process? I hope you are because your effort of innovation here should be preserved for future replication, if not by you then by some oem that you trust… My 2 cents

Of course I have everything documented for sure. I just hit something I’ve been wanting to do since I started this project and it’s amazing.

I think when you are motivated by trying to do what other people cannot, it pushes you to greater levels. I am the first person to ever do this kind of tuning with one DD and even if its not the best sounding IEM ever made, I find the struggle and small wins extremely satisfying. This last one is a big win though.

I think everyone in this thread wants to get their hands on one and try them out by now. If you are planning on shipping them across the globe eventually, I’d for sure be tempted to order one…

I am, and I know for sure. Right now we have a massive issue in the USA which is Ali likely wont ship here anymore and if they do, the price is much higher for parts and such. I do not know what will happen. I have enough to make about 20 sets right now and the drivers to make about 40 but I dont have a few various things needed. I will probably have to ask someone in another country to order stuff and ship them to me… not fun.

hmm i do wonder if it will be that bad. In Europe at least, most of the stuff shipped from ali/china have false declaration values of the prices. So even if tariffs hurts, it doesnt do much when its x% of 2 USD.
