Currently running my HD660s on the Schiit Magni heresy and Modi 3+, I love the setup but have been thinking about upgrading to the Monolith 124459 DAC/amp combo. Will it be a good upgrade? noticeable difference? Thanks in advance!
these like power and warmth…so something like an iFi Zen DAC with balanced cabling.
I think there would likely be a noticeable difference, but not necessarily an improvement depending on what you’re looking for. What would you want to change about your current setup?

Appreciate it! ill look into these two. I was going to keep the DAC and build a Botllehead Crack w/ Speedball but the tasks seems really daunting and the price for the amp plus it being built is a little too far outta my budget.
Honestly really thinking about it I really enjoy my setup. I was looking maybe to see if there was better performance to be had out of the system.
If you want a little different flavor and a step up from the Heresy, you might consider the Asgard 3. Keep the Modi 3+ as your DAC, as to get a significant jump in performance, you’d be looking at something in the range of the Bifrost. Or, if you like what you’ve got, stick with it for now.

Hear the 6xx (not 6XX but 6-series… man that makes it hard) really love tubes and these are cheap powerful warm tubies. Combine with some Sylvania 6AK5 and you’ll have a creamy 6-series
