I think if I recall a lot of those “gaming dac” dongles work for them… but I can’t really say for sure on a lot of them… most of the things I have tested just didn’t work with the ps4 whatsoever… it always had to be an optical
I would find something dark or smooth sounding like an Ifi Hip Dac or a Es100 (you can EQ and save the setting in the app and it remembers its last setting. SHP9500 are are a little bright and have a Treble peak and need an EQ or a dark amp IMHO.
I have my old fx dac x6 connected to my ps4 via optical, can even do line out for speakers
Eh? I dont really see them as too bright even slightly. Regardless, both of those are out of budget.
yeah, I was contending with this as its definitely not a bad amp/dac and its rather cheap. Honestly, if I could find a better unit around the same price off the used market that would be alot more ideal as more bang for the buck
A bit late to the party but…
I currently use the SHP9500 for on the go gaming. I have them paired with a Soundblaster G3. Not the best but does the job. I managed to pick one up as new for £25. It would also allow him to EQ through the app on a smart device if needed.
