shp9500 or kph30i

#shp9500 #kph30i #budget_audiophile

I am lost in the audio file rabbit hole searching for a good audio system under 6k taka.

Mostly I listen to instrumental, progressive rock, metal, heavy metal, classic. and I will use it for mixing. and sometimes for movies and gaming.

First, after watching a lot of reviews, I am convinced to buy Phillips shp9500. But there are some negative facts about it. like…

1.it was too grainy

  1. no sub-bass with harsh sounding in sss shhhh reason some time

  2. the treble distorted most of the time which is audible.

so I decided rather buy koss kph 30i and save some money. because koss haven’t bad review than shp9500(i am not considering the price here)

is that a good decision? should I buy kph30i or spend double the money to buy Phillips 9500?

or I should buy anything other than these two?

Any suggestion will highly be appreciated. thank you?

if i recall correctly DMS touched on both if these in this video, sorry i can’t help you out myself, hopefully you can draw something from this. is this your first entry into enthusiast audio?

Or maybe like, get something else entirely?
I’m anti SHP9500, i really don’t like them and i think they are super overrated.
I haven’t heard the KPH30i, but i know they’re so cheaply built and break very easily as well, an online friend of mine has gone through 3 of them so far.
US$40 buys you a used Blon B8, if you can find it, it runs circles around the SHP9500 and its built so well.

Honestly if I were you I would just save .ore money and hit the around a$150 realm as there’s where a lot of the decent less compromises headphones really show up

One is very comfortable and feels nicely built.
The other one requires a pad-swap to be borderline comfy for a bit.

Unfortunately I have been more impressed by the sound quality overall of the uncomfortable, rather cheaply built set.

I’ll leave their identities to be a “mystery”
