By the way I did the micropore port mod on P1 and the bass is much improved and no congestion, unlike fully-sealing port mod with other non-breathable materials. Also with micropore there are no driver flex and pressure issue. I recommend this to anyone wanting more bass out of the P1.
Can you take a picture please?
I use the āBass boostā tips that came with my fh7ās which add a tad of bass leaving everything else unadulteratedā¦but the stock P1ās only need a good tip of choice that fit well to do there magic
Are FH7ās bass tips one of those SpinFits, or are they proprietary? Wondering if we can buy just the tips.
Theyāre not Spinfits and I have looked to buy a few replacement pairs but no such luck yet Iāve mailed FiiO just awaiting a reply
Is anyone here feel like āI have no freaking clue how the tape sounds likeāā¦ Some soundtracks and Atmos movies sound soooo gud in it and some tracks are unbearable piercing. Any song suggestions that are enjoyable in it will be gr8
Ok (previous post deleted ) sorry trying to add a pollā¦after 100 odd posts do the Tape or P1ās rule?..try again if not #MON can you help with a poll and not start a new thread?

Iām guessing @Ohmboy and I are the only ones to have voted so far and I feel like thatās a bit unfair to the Tape. Hopefully Tape lovers will vote soon.
X2 buddyā¦I love how we all enjoy our music and what we prefer hardware wise as much as the genres
Yeah, i really want to love the Tape so badlyā¦ I wish tape lovers chip in and give their feedback and the genre of their choice
So Iāve had the Tapes for about two weeks now. I really really wanna love them because they are great sounding when everything is lined up properly, but I have two major gripes with them and theyāre big enough for me to consider asking linsoul if theyād let me exchange them for the P1s:
- the vocals are really shouty and hollow - which wouldnāt be as much of a problem if it wasnāt for:
- Iāve tried a hundred different tips and I cannot get them to seal properly without physically holding them in place, and you have to do it if you want the bass and the beautiful image which they absolutely CAN deliver
(and no, I canāt EQ them on what Iām using portable)
but Iām wondering if itās worth the hassle to spend five minutes before each listen just to make them fit (plus, I usually use IEMs for jogging, and with these itās basically impossible).
Iāve honestly had an easier time fitting the STOCK Blons than these. Itās not that the tips you get are bad, itās just the rectangular shape of the actual IEM that makes them always tilt down to one side when theyāre in your ear. And if you want the full sound delivery, that rectangle needs to sit tightly up against your ear, which it absolutely cannot for me if Iām walking (let alone running).
Add to that, the stock cable is pretty stiff, itās a 2.5 mm + 3.5 adapter which makes it unnecessarily long, the cable color is horrible and the MMCX just makes them even more moveable when they have to be still.
and Iām gonna risking having everything I just wrote be disregarded for what Iām about to say, but I bought the Tapes as an upgrade to the KZ ZSX I was using, and tbh theyāre so similar that I kinda regret not going for something else. They ARE BETTER, theyāre just way too similar sounding. Which I guess is not to bash on the tapes, rather a nod to the ZSX (which fit and seal much better btw).****
I guess I got very lucky with the Tapes. For me fit is perfect, maybe even the most snug among my other IEMs. Stock tips also works perfectly for me, as usual I have to use different sizes for my left/right ears but they do work well. Didnāt use stock cable because I run balanced, but agree that itās not what Iād consider nice cable. Iām also not getting shouty mids. There was a time I felt there is some glare in the upper mids/lower treble, but somehow thatās disappeared.
Not really P1 killer because I just love the warm and crunchy P1 mids much more but I still grab it more often than P1. P1 being more of specialist for certain music for me, while the tapes were pretty much my daily driver.
Looks like BGGAR might be doing a vid of the Tape vās P1 vās the WG T-one?..
Agree with the vocal issue but the comfort has not been a problem for me, I am using ikko planet foam tips with the Tapes and they get the job done.
The ZSX sounded super tinny to me as far as that ba treble goes, I think the Tapes are really natural in the regard. I can deff see the detail comparison though as those shoveled it in your ears
So it seems the general take on the Tapes: Want to love it, but too shouty
When using the P1 at my desk job, driven by an Atom amp, I do find the lack of bass itās biggest draw back. Even doing a āyogiā mod helps, but not quite enough I think.
So Iām going to try the P-Tapes for a day. So far I like how my ears are being tricked, but I donāt know how sustainable it will be. R ear: Tapes, L ear: P1 with 3m foam lying around the office.
this should be interesting haha
try sticking to it enough to get used to it, now Iām intrigued
the volume difference could be irritating but I am gonna try that myself now lol
