The 500 mesh filter by itself is very close to the stock Red nozzle. If you already have different mesh materials you can retune the red nozzle the same way as above.
The Special ZeusPro retune has less treble and a little more bass with same upper mids. I am not disclosing how to do this. It requires different materials and the 711 measurement coupler. I think it has that special balance of all frequencies!
The tuning kit +felt get you very close though.
3M Micropore tape you can buy anywhere. Where to put it over the nozzle vent . In this pic I used Transpore tape as its very hard to notice and deos the same thing.
These are fast becoming my favorite tips for tough to fit IEMs. I have a pair on my Tripowin x HBB Kailua, and they are great. On the Simgot EW200, it is the only tip that gives me any bass, and I don’t know why since the EA500 was a perfect fit with my standby Spinfit CP100+.
Hut ab! Die EM6L sind fantastisch
Great description of the effects of different frequency ranges on sound perception will keep these in mind for sure.
I totally agree the EM6L eats the Variations alive. Simgot is on a roll. Received them 4h ago. Can’t. Stop. Listening.
This is one of these sets to quit the hobby on without remorse. I’d even go so far to call them the HD600 of the IEM world. These are a masterpiece. Ok I stop now with the coffee and calm down.
Home not feeling well today and thought to myself, why not do a little comparison? I have the EA500, EW200 & the EM6L. The last was my latest purchase. I’ll start by saying the tips I’m using on the 500 and EM6L are foam. The 200 are tips that came with it. I am using the black filters on the 500. I am using this as my current song that my opinions are based upon.
TLDR, the 500 is on top of my list, the EM6L the bottom. And it’s not close. The sound on the EM6L is compressed compared to either of the other 2. And the horns sound tinny to me on them as well. The 200 are possibly the real winner here, as the difference between them and the 500 is so minimal that I would easily suggest anyone try them out if you’re on that kind of budget. The 500 has the magic of the filters you can change, which is it’s main selling point I can give it over the 200. You have options with it. Of course I suppose you could just EQ, but why be boring? I’m a little sad about the EM6L, had high hopes for them being something new and different sounding looking at it’s design. I will end this by saying you may feel different about these 3, and that’s fine. I’m a 59 year old dude who’s undoubtedly had damage to my hearing over the years. Been to many concerts, and fired a gun or two in the past.
EM6L is undoubtedly safer than the 200/500. It’s a side grade that is taste dependent (IMO).
I think it is most suited to the people who found 500 too aggressive or energetic. If you thought 500 was just right, then your opinion makes sense to me
I’ve owned the ea500 for a month or two, and got sidetracked with some iems that are, well, at the high tiers. One day, i decided to take the 500 for a spin, changed the stock cable to a balanced, and exchange the stock tips with Final audio type e. Blew my mind instantly and made me fall in love all over again. I haven’t tried the new em6l, and quite underwhelmed by the ew100p. Ea500 still rocks my world and for the longest time, I’ve been torn apart between these and titan s. Now, i have a clear winner. #ea500Rules
Yeah, the one thing I realized I forgot to mention is there is quite a lot more bass in the 200/500. They are definitely what I would refer to as “fun” iems. The 500 slightly more than the 200.
This is not true. Maybe use the tips that come with the IEM since you’re coloring the tuning all willy nilly. Frequency response shows em6l has deeper bass extension and similar amplitude as well as a smoother treble than the 500…
Just started experimenting with the Simgot DIY upgrade kit. Followed TDMs golden fix and was amazed. Currently awaiting Dunnu S&S tips for further experimentation, but, all-in-all, just gobsmacked at how good these babies sound!
I first tried the @ToneDeafMonk micropore fix for the bass, but found it too wooly for my tastes. I Switched to using the 200 nozzle filters over the body aperture and that has given me the extra bass extension without the wooliness. Check out TDM’s video at 468, and ZeusPro’s excellent take on this at 500 in this thread
