Single Power Audio Supra Headphone Amplifier

I was at a local hifi repair shop today (dropping off the Pioneer SX-450 and Pioneer CT-F2121 that I inherited for a clean and re-cap) and noticed this beauty. The shop owner had just found it in the back (apparently it was something he picked up years ago as a project and never finished it) and is finishing cleaning / repairing it. It works today, but sound is distorted. I should have taken a picture of the insides as well as outside, it’s a beauty through and through. And it’s huge! ~2ft by 1ft - not sure where I would put it?!

I’m sure it’s unique sounding - but does anyone have an opinion on sound quality and value? @M0N, have you listened to one of these? He didn’t propose a price, but I’m curious if anyone thinks this is worth pursuing? I can go back for more pictures. The guy is planning to finish the repair, I’m sure he would do so faster if there was an interested buyer. It’s probably not for me, but if someone is interested I could put you in touch with the shop owner, he’s good with email.

Yeah a long time ago, it was good, but I really can’t say anything more than that since it’s been so long on that one since I’ve heard one. I’d def pick it up for a grand or so, I have no idea what the current market value is though but I’d say that would be a fair price. But really though this one is from the early 2000s iirc so I don’t know how many of them there are. Other singlepower amps are pretty sought after (specifically to drive the r10)

I should say that the singlepower stuff isn’t exactly known for being that reliable (they like to blow up) and the dude making them was sketchy and has a reputation that isn’t the greatest, but as long as you get it repaired by someone trustworthy (make sure they use high quality components as well) you should fine
