So I’ve been considering balance modding my DT 990 pro (partially to get rid of the mildly irritating and heavy coiled cable), and was wondering… Do I go with a single jack on the one side, or go dual sided?
Are there any legit benefits to one over the other beyond any convenience or personal preference?
Less of a detailed answer to your question and more of a basic over view of the benefits of 4 wire over 3 wire. Hope at the least you find it interesting.

If you went dual TS, you would have to drill a hole to the second cup…
Soldering a TRRS instead of TRS into one cup is probably much easier.
