Holy. Shit. Lord may help us. God damn, look at that SEXY THANG.

I donā€™t think Iā€™ve been this hype over a $150 headphone in my entire life.

it does look dope but I actually think the ligher versionā€™s wood looks better, i think if I would buy one iā€™d have to give it a coat of wood lacquer to make the wood shine a bit.

Just got it. The wood on the cups, dont really feel like wood and has quite the glossy surfaceā€¦not sure what material, but seems to be ā€œstabilized resinā€ (will do more research about it).

The pads feels like a big marshmallow lol.

In a good way or mushy in a bad way?

In a good way. :joy:

Sound on the other handā€¦well, I need more time before I give my impression.

Sivga SV021 Impressions:
Bass: Elevated bass, pretty even between sub and mid-bass. It is on the cleaner side (due to the treble balancing it out) and isnā€™t for bassheads as the sub-bass doesnā€™t rumble that much.
Mids: Recessed vocals, tonality wise they arenā€™t that natural either. As male vocals lack warmth, while female vocals have decent tonality, the timbre is not particularly good.
Treble: This is the weakest aspect, it is a quite bright, there are 2 peaks that can be quite the big issue depending on the track. 3k and 6k peaks. You do not want to use it for tracks that are poorly mastered or bright to begin with, because it will be ā€œdeath by trebleā€. Here are a few tracks that DO work, without it being offensive.

Overall: So far, I am not very impressed by it.

1st plays: disappointed with the phoenix?
sorry for the mistakes Iā€™m french itā€™s a google translation

The Phoenix is a very good headphone. This (SV021) is a dissapointment so far.

thanks for the initial impression, what amp/dac did you try them on?
a real shame was hoping for them to be decent cause i like the looks

Schiit Asgard 3 + JDS ol switch + Topping E10, thats my setup.

(also have the JDS Atom lol.)

Cool thanks , BTW did you ever try the 006/007 and if so do you think it compares.
Also i might suggest trying to pad swap them, cause thatā€™s how the 006/007 got a whole lot better for me

I dont. This is what I have:

I did try to EQ it, but honestly it doesnt seem to have potential at all.

pity, it cools me, it is nevertheless very pretty

Sivga SV021: SIVGA SV021 - Reviews | Headphone Reviews and Discussion - Head-Fi.org

Rank: D

Bright V-shaped, velied, massively recessed vocals and mount everest treble peaksā€¦

I cannot understand how a brand that made the Phoenix can come out with something soā€¦dissapointingā€¦

well shitā€¦
Dont get this the wrong way, but i hope you just have a bad unit
Sivga did have QC issues in the past, so fingers crossed its just a bad apple, since the next reviewer said he enjoyed them.

It is a review unit, I doubt they want to send bad units to reviewers lol.

Yeah, that guy doesnt know what he is talking about.

One could only hope
but at least you saved me a couple of bucks, might as well get the Pheonix

Get the phoenix if you want something from Sivga. Otherwise if you want something more specific (sound) I can help you more if you tell me.
