Hi, I have been using this combo for a little bit: While it sounds good the volume knobs aren’t that great and I feel there is probably a better combo out there. Was curious if any one had any suggestions. Headphone wise I use Fidelio X2hr and want to get into stuff like the Aeon Open X, Sundaras etc. I was was thinking maybe the EL Dac and Amp stack, e30 and Asgard, Asgard and Mobius. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to HFG! You’ve listed some good gear…what’s your budget, and what are your sonic preferences? The Asgard is likely as good as you’d need to get you into the mid-fi range with plenty of power without having to worry about having balanced cables. The Mobius is getting pretty good reviews outside of some early complaints about USB issues, and would stack nicely as well as offer a degree of future proofing for a balanced amp down the road.

Modius and Asgard are a good bet. I don’t have an Asgard but my modius really brought my thx789 to life.
