the Studio/ professional version of the MDR EX1000, same driver, just had added damper on the nozzle to tame the highs, plastic build instead of metal, longer cables (by 10 ish cm), less luxurious retail packaging and case, also its actually individually hand matched by Sony people in Japan; thats one thing the EX1000 doesnt get.
