This is such an odd headphone claiming it has “ray traced audio”. Everything about it is just weird to me. It costs a 99$ but good luck finding it in stock. This really does deserve a thread of its own… if anyone manages to get it, I reaaaally wanna know how it sounds.
I have no idea what the audio is like on the 3D Pulse, but Sony has said several times all headphones will be able to get 3D audio. The ray-traced audio is hardware on the PS5, it has nothing to do with the 3D Pulse. As far as i know, they have only claimed that this is specially tuned for 3d audio…whatever that means.
I am thinking more of a marketing gag, similar to Dolby 5.1 or 7.1 on headphones is simply not possible.
Stereo remains stereo if only left and right speakers are available.
What should be 3D moderate now?
I can hear the steps of an opponent in stereo or engine sound, as well as everything else, even if the equipment is good.
I also think it’s a mess from Sony that the old headphones and most of the common headphones won’t run on the PlayStation 5, and if they do, you’ll have to buy something separate.
So I have to give Microsoft a big point.
I wouldn’t give it much with this 3 D sound.
All advertising to buy their patents.
It’s bad enough that they have castrated the optical connector, it makes it almost impossible to enjoy good sound on a console while gambling.
