what are the pros / cons of your regular speaker cable (oxygen free copper) vs the weird braided stuff from the likes of Kimber, pic below? and what’s with the funky design within each braided portion? two thick strands, three smaller and then two even smaller?
The weirdness probably has something to do that you get “two” cable ends from “one” bigger.
One for positive and one for negative cable.
Thin twisty build is probably for flexibility. They kinda use similar twist build with power cables to make big cables more flexible.
Dont know about the different sizes though? More copper for smaller diameter?
Can be new form and look to stand out from the competition. Make something old to new and fancy words for advertisement
The different conductor sizes may be to mitigate “skin effect”, which to my knowledge does not really have any effect in the kHz range
