I need some advice. Looking for a pair of speakers (active, or passive+ 50 euro amp) in the sub 200 euro price bracket (would love to spend around 150 euro, but i can go till 200 if its worth it) to use as all purpose speakers to hook up to my PC (my PC is my TV, sound system, ecc.). I’m not exactly an audiophile, but I notice and appreciate good sound.
P.s. Me living in Italy does limit me a bit. It means no Neumi, no Micca, and no fluance, and even the used market is kind of a no-go.
I’m familiar with the r1700bts (thanks for even going as far as looking for the italian amazon’s page ). Do you know if there’re any other options, or are these just unarguably the best for the money?
Debatable… like for a complete package, they’re hard to beat. I don’t see any Swans on Amazon.it.
There’s the direct upgrade:
But really, the difference is more controls on the remote and more inputs rather than just RCAs. For the price, the R1700s are hard to beat.
Going passive… the options open up, but I don’t think you’ll get drastically better. Active speakers offer DSP correction and adjustments, and a complete package. For what you’re thinking of using them for, I think active speakers do the job perfect.
There’s also this option:
It’s more money, but also you get a subwoofer, and that allows the system to have a smaller speaker pair for more room on your desk.
