I know one or 2 folks were looking for a used SPL Phonitor 2, Had I not already purchased one already, I would try to get my hands on this one.

Add that to my vu meter collection… that’s endgame for me (probably)

That is a fantastic value. I bought my VU-less Phonitor e for 950 and called it a deal.

Can I block this thread? Lol

The E25 luna is $120 now. I’ve been looking for a good and very small desktop speaker because I’m running out of desk space. Wondering if I should get em… (I’m assuming they’re powered speakers)

Audeze are actually selling the microphone cable separately? How did I miss this? Yes please and thank you.

Still don’t get why the discontinued the vegan pads then. What’s the difference of selling the pads for other headphones if they sell a cable that can be used for other headphones?

Most likely a knee jerk response, kinda bit them in the ass lol

Not sure if they are the same, but they do sell leather free LCD pads again:

so the monolith USB DAC and liquid spark are on sale… i dunno if its worth it though… i hear the liquid spark is good but the magni heresy kinda beat it… and i dont trust monoprice with a USB dac… but for 60 bucks who knows

There’s no winner here just preference… liquid spark is warm wide and wonderful… heresy is a no nonsense clean analytical powerhouse… both great for what they are

i already had problem with one speaker built in amp being too warm and makes some hip hop and stuff a bit too hard to decipher

also i dont wanna be a monoprice basic bitch

i have a big hierarchy issue and thats why im an anarchist

Lol dang, no, the difference is definitely not that big. Chances are, you won’t even hear a difference if you A/B the liquid spark and the Heresy.

I mean the spark is noticably a warmer amp with a bit of roll off and smoothness in the high end, it’s pretty obvious at first listen especially with a brighter headphone. It’s definitely noticable on a 58x from my experience, both sound pretty great and it’s mainly preference. As long as someone spends an adequate amount of time with the amp, it’s pretty noticable. If you took someone random off the street and let them ab for like 5-10 minutes there might be a good possibility they can’t tell the difference, but mostly anyone who gets to spend time is going to notice. I would say if you were talking about the atom vs heresy I would agree to most it would be hard to tell the difference, but the spark is noticably tuned differently

Yeah but, enough to make lyrics harder to decipher? When they both measure flat 0 to 20 000hz? No way lol.

It depends on the headphone. For the 58x I don’t see an issue, but perhaps using something like the hip dac I actually could see it getting a bit too clouded (because that is really colored sounding).

Many amps that are colored in sound will measure flat, there is much more than just a simple fr test to amp coloration. By that logic almost all amps that measure flat should sound wholly uncolored which is not the case

Might be a good deal even at full price (I just stumbled upon this).

900mW @ 32 ohms headphone amp
RCA line in and USB in and pre out and line out
USB in is 24/96, let’s say “some random texas instruments chipset”
80$.

That’s like, ifi Zen Dac for half the price (ish) if you don’t want balanced and you got powered speakers too.

It’s somewhat equivalent to a dac x6, so imo good if you need something because your mobo audio doesn’t work, but in the end I would still just save for the big 3 100 buck amps and run them from a phone or mobo instead

Exactly what I thought lol. Cheap but good, if not for you, for a friend.
In the same category, this dongle thing is 60$ (38% off). ESS ES9018K2M, 32-bit, 384kHz ESS Sabre DAC. A SMSL Idea / Sabaj DA2 copy probably.
