Well i got the impression that the Sony headphones are dark. am i wrong about that?
10/10, listening to those headphones right now and they scale up VERY nicely. 100% recommend the MDR-1am2. They’re the headphones that just work everywhere on little amplification.

I wouldn’t go as far to call them dark. They have a house sound that is not bright for sure.
@BluJay614 I think everyone should have 1 Sony studio set. They’re worth it enough. Either that or the 7506 is totally worth having around because some stuff recorded with Sony’s I swear only sound good on Sony’s.

I have actually considered possibly picking up the Koss Pro4s for a reference headphone (unless my K550 already counts). Otherwise, Ive been thinking about those Sonys for a bit.
Before that, I need to replace my phone (that decided to kick the bucket) and get myself a car so I can get a better job then working at a pizza place.

Not surprised there. The mdr1 am2 is very consumer tuning just more refined than most that’s just sonys house sound generally. I just lack something like that in the collection and I quite like how they sound it is between the mdr am2 or 99 noirs for me. Basically whichever goes on sale first to the price in looking for.
The biggest thing holding me back is I need to get a new phone (was planning on ordering the Galaxy A71 on Monday, cause the last one decided to kick the bucket), and I need to buy a car.
I watch Valor, but I tend to notice I dont agree with his the way he hears things as much as I do with Zeos or DMS.
I still wanna pick up a pair of both of them.
