Keep in mind that the 1st production run batch of Eddie Current ZDT Jr. amps all had significant hum issues. This guy says that this amp has 0 hum issues…yet his serial number is 22? I call bullshit.
Just food for thought

Depends on what he’s listening with, the hum is present, but even before I shielded mine, it wasn’t terrible. The Verites are silly sensitive and they’re what made me shield mine.
It’s a 20 minute fix with $30 in parts.
The difference is this is on the used market for almost the same as the MSRP. Maybe I am too conservative when I shop for used gear, but that is enough of a red flag and enough of a hassle to fix than I’d be willing to deal with. Of course, just my opinion. Others may not be bothered by any of that one bit.

Good thing the website isn’t in smell-o-vision?
HeadAmp’s Gilmore Lite Mk2 Class-A headphone amp shows a price of $299 on HeadAmp’s amplifier page, but the product page shows the price as $499. Strange.
The amp is still $499. They are now offering a bundled option of the amp with an upgraded power supply for $799. The power supply by itself is $299, and the price you see listed.
I guess you can save a buck by purchasing the power supply and amp separately.
Thanks for the clarification of the rather meh deal.

Price is probably due to availability but I wasn’t aware they had an issue with noise floor… good to know… I posted it mainly because they’re highly regarded and getting harder to find

Like New Sennheiser HD8’s ($162 and $170; Prime and ships from Amazon). Regularly priced at $289.
Are those new? what do they sound like? from the frequency graph they look bassy but maybe dark?
I missed that part. I remember when they used to regularly be found around that price new.
I believe there are variants of the Sennheiser HD DJ series, so that may have been the cost for one of them. $300 for DJ cans just seems absurd, but they do have a following.
Open Box Sale on Bloom Audio. Decent prices on a few things. I received a 10% discount code recently that I’m not going to use that you can lump with sale priced items (Coupon code: W9FB-SI89-755C).
No, it was definitely the 8, there was a while they couldn’t give those things away. The 6 was below $100 and 7 was around $125 and the 8 around the price stated.
Koss Porta Pros in Black and Black/Silver are now $24.99 each on amazon. They do not have Prime shipping unfortunately. But it’s the lowest price I’ve seen in a long time.
