Not sure this is exactly the right category but here goes… My pc does not have bluetooth because at the time I built it I found it unnecessary I guess. I currently run my Bifrost 2 out of it then to various SE amps through a switch. Balanced out of the BF2 is for my liquid platinum… Every once in awhile I would like to be able to send the signal from my Bifrost 2 through that same switch to maybe a decent bluetooth transmitter/receiver to my Fiio BTR3K so I can use some of my IEMs without being tied to the desk so to speak… Anyone here have experience with something I could try? Maybe a box with rca’s that I could run from the switch into it…This way I am still getting more or less what my Bifrost 2 is putting out to my ears… All suggestions welcomed!
Have you considering getting a USB bluetooth adapter for your pc? The internal one on my pc went bad and I ended up getting one of these.
TP-Link USB Bluetooth Adapter for PC(UB400), 4.0 Bluetooth Dongle Receiver Support Windows 10/8.1/8/7/XP for Desktop, Laptop, Mouse, Keyboard, Printers, Headsets, Speakers, PS4/ Xbox Controllers https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07V1SZCY6/ref=cm_sw_r_other_apa_i_gNf0FbSX03QMW
I have an ifi zen blue, that has digital outs, or its own dac, ive used with the bf2 as well(coaxial) its honestly really great, for it being bluetooth, has LDAC, balanced out, and Bluetooth 5.0
Thanks for the response!.. Technically what you suggest is not what I need… I am looking for something to connect “after” my Bifrost 2. I want to send the sound that is created by my dac. I don’t even know if this is possible but would like to hope so.
It is possible, I am just not sure why you would turn a digital signal into an analog one, just to turn it into a digital again to send via Bluetooth.
IIRC Zeos has a TaoTronics bluetooth transmitter he runs from optical.
Call me crazy? I am wanting to do this in order to cover all the bases sort of…Sitting down at the pc putting the IEMs on and within 5 minutes having to get up and do something, Take off the IEMs then go do what I gotta do then come back put them on again and then 5 minutes later have to do it all again… Not something I do or would need to do that often but if there is a inexpensive way to do it then why not have the option…
Thanks for your response
I figured that would be the cheapest route to get bluetooth transmission to the BTR3K. I dont think you can bypass the internal dac of the BTRK3 (maybe I am wrong however), so not sure how much you benefit from running the signal through the bf2, since the last link in the chain in the dac of the BTR3K.
I got one of these…pretty flexible for how you use it
Ok, so the only “easy” way to transmit an analog signal to your ears while you walk around is speakers. Other than that you will need to look into a good portable DAP or DAC/AMP if you arent satisfied with the BTR3K. Also, just so you are aware, the only LDAC transmitter is the Fiio BTA30, and it can only do it with coax or optical in
Very happy with the BTR3K… Not the problem at all… The problem is transmitting the signal AFTER my Bifrost 2 that is connected to my non bluetooth desktop and then to the Fiio. Not sure even if it can be done…
I guess I’m not sure what you are actualy looking for then. The BTR3K is a dac/amp. It accepts only digital in. If you are happy with the BTR3K why do oyu want to use your desktop dac to stream to it? Is there a feature you want? Does the BTR3K not have enough power for your favorite headphones? Ar you missing certain sonic qualities with your current “walking around” setup?
While there is no way to stream an analog signal over air to some kind of receiver (not in any safe standard consumer way at least), we very well may be able to solve the actual problem you are having.
Desktop pc does not have bluetooth… It is connected to my Bifrost 2 which channeled thru a switch controls several amps for either speakers (powered) or headphones but occasionally i was thinking of somehow sending that signal via bluetooth to the BTRk to my Camfire andromeda’s as a example… Bottom line here is add bluetooth AFTER the BF2… As I said may not be possible but I am curious if it is… I have many headphones and many IEM’s and just figuring another way to enjoy them that is all… Thanks for your responses
Flat out not possible. Again I will say though, that DOES NOT mean we cant achieve the listening experience you desire. It just means you dont realy understand what you are asking for. Its is absolutely possible to stream full quality music from your comp to the Fiio. The ony reason to use the asgaurd to translate the signal to analog before the fiio (aka, use one dac over another) is because you like the sonic qualities of the asgaurd more. Thats why I keep asking if you are missing some sonic characteristic that you want
I know this already my friend… This is just a whim so to speak and was wondering that is all… Technically for example all I need is a transmitter with rca inputs that I can plug into my “switch” that when I select that output it would then broadcast the signal from my BF2 via bluetooth which I then could connect my BTR3k to…Theoretically I do not see why it could not work…But then maybe I am missing something here.
Thats the thing though. Bluetooth is a strictly digital transmission protocol, so if you output from the asgaurd you would need to go
digital (computer) → analogue (asgaurd out) → digital (RCA → BT transmitted out → revieced by BTR) → analogue (BTR out to headphones
The reason for all the confusion in replies in this thread is because any benefit you may possibly gain from the asgaurd (considering the BTR3K handles more codecs than it does) would be required to be lost to use bluetooth, so we just dont understand why you even want to do it even if it was possible. Its like two people that speak the same language using a translator anyways. There is no possible benefit to the complication.
Okay, to back up a bit here, I was simply wondering if it was possible that is all… I have my dac (Bifrost2) it then feeds my Liquid platinum via xlr… It also feeds a switch (RCA) that then goes out to (1) Schiit Asgard3 and my powered monitors. Next switch position (2) feeds my Meier audio Corda Jazz.(headphone amp 2 for my collection of IEMs… the next switch (3) controls my electrostats ESP95X. Switch (4) is not being used and I was simply curious as to the possibility of whether it is feasible to hook up some kind of bluetooth transmitter and then use my BTR3k to IEMs…
