Anyone have some good Gregorian chants?
Here’s something. It’s (to me) bizarrely hard to find.
and, interestingly enough, this:
I have a few more along these lines. Not the same thing, but along this line.
Yah, ive actualy been having a hell of a time looking for decent quality chants as well. This artist has some cooler shit, but still not exactly the best (at least through my shitty headphones they sound mastered poorly)
The halo sountracks legit may be the best mastered option we have.
Didn’t think to mention her earlier, but Julie Fowlis sings various traditional Gaelic songs, some of which might be as old as the Middle Ages. This new one she posted seems to be from some time around the end of the period:

I discovered a new Pagan Folk Band. The first album is very relaxed. The second is much more aggressive.
Hi there, I have a video I just released with my cello ensemble that you might be interested in! hope you enjoy!
Finaly found some decent Gregorian chants.
Honestly, the local monestary does way better chants every TuThSu (I think it may be a different style as its way more impactful with higher dynamic ranges?), but this is pretty solid for not having to sit through a 4 hour church service.
It’s not just medieval music, but it goes in that direction.
Most of you will know Ritchie Blackmore from Deep Purple’s time. He later founded the band Blackmore’s Night with his wife.
@PaulG Very nice. I love this mix of old instruments / chants and strong bass.
Wardruna’s new medieval viking album KVITRAVN was released two days ago.
Wardruna is very nice too, love to hear on a long journey
Andrey Vinogradov has some really nice stuff of youtube. Usually only Hurdy-Gurdy, no singing.
Here is a video him:
Blackmore’s Night released their new album Nature’s Light 2 days ago.
On this album Ritchie Blackmores allowed himself a little more electric guitar than in the last few years.
Here are a few words from Ritchie Blackmore and his wife Candice Night.
I love the german folklore band Triskilkian. Some of their songs reach quite deep. Like coming home to a place you’ve never visited before, but you get the feeling you are somehow emotionally attached to it… Hard to explain for me ^^
In Germany we could say “urig”, but there is no direct English translation for this word. urig - Wiktionary
Unfortunately a lot of their songs are not on YouTube. But I found at least some of them
One of my favorites:
This is one is music only - no singing:
Studio recording with video:
This one is a live recording:
This one is more of a mix between modern and medieval times:
Just found this one, it’s also really nice:
Also love this one:
This one has great mystic vibes:
Actually prefer this cover over the original song, such a beautiful approach in German (as a native German, I highly approve of this :))
This medieval band comes from my region in Switzerland. You won’t understand much of the text. Because this is in Swiss German.
Found some new ones for you guys, hope you enjoy them
This one can put you in trance, a real piece of art:
Norupo by the same artist is also great:
I love this one. No idea what they are singing, but I like what it sounds to me. Just listen for yourself:
This one is about the sacred tree Yggdrasil:
Now here we have real passion & fire, live:
This one is a sad song. I’m loving the band, makes me feel happy to be born as a German:
That’s it for today, happy listening folks

Love how she’s even wearing “medieval headphones” in this one.
