Tips, cable and accessories etc

How much do those effect your purchase decision when buying a new set…

there’s definitely a price point where I want more than a card stating “Our Design Philosophy” and a handshake but for the most part as long as the cable is not microphonic then it’s whatever whatever playa

If I were buying a single set, I’d have more stake in the whole pacakge but I feel that after owning a couple and having already stockpiled a number of cable and tip options, all that matters is the actual IEM themselves.
That said, I do appreciate a nice overall package.

Could care less as long as cable isn’t microphonic. I almost always tip roll, too.

I would rather have a company focus on driver tech and the actual IEM than adding a boojie cable and tips and inflating the price.

Honestly, a little bit if the IEM costs more than say $500. I expect a little bit of an experience If I were to spend that much. Anything below that I could care less about the accessories that come in the box. I know I’m going to tip and cable roll anyways.

Yeah, I tend to agree with both @pk500 & @domq422 , it’s somewhat important to me as long as the IEM you are getting performs as specified by the manufacturer and has had good QC and no silent driver revisions. If need be, I can always buy another cable to match the colorway and material needs to pair with the IEM and I already have a small stock of favorite tips (but more can easily be purchased).

That said, companies like Dunu (for one) stand out in my mind that offer a matched accessory package and case to the IEM usually. Even if I glance over the tips, having a solid cable is always welcome in any set, especially as the price goes up (thinking the SA series).
