I think the sound difference would be Minor or get it for remote and display or put the money into a new Dac or transducers IEM, HP ect…

Stick with the OG and be happy, the difference is rather small - not enough to warrent a “upgrade”

as someone who didn’t like the OG A90 the A90D is ok it’s a bit better but it’s still the same product with some upgraded specs essentially.

plugged via xlr to su9 dac
comming from og atom amp
im surprised how an amp
can change the headphone signature
and performance …
itbrought life to my hd6xx
and blon b20 planar
bass is punchy controlled never bloated
trebile notes are cute and delightfil to ears
instruments are sperated and there is
enough air between them.
soundstage cant be judged
since im using su9 and narrow staged HP
yet i feel there is more depth and width
the lazy thick sound of my planar
replaced by airy enjoyable one
always thought hd6xx lacks some clarity
and bit slow in crowded songs
yet a90d gave it all clarity and speed it needed and it never felt congested .
recommend using hd6xx on unbalanced
output since balanced feels overly clinical
and accourding to power calculators
u do not need more than 2 volts to reach
very loud levels.

Hey so is this still considered the cleanist amp? Ive had the THX AAA 789 since it came out. Been wanting sonething new that still could be used for refrence.

I’m set to receive my Geshelli j3 with the Sparkos on XLR and Burson V7 vivid on RCA. go big or go home, right? I’m excited for the J3, I had been sending signal to my A90D with rca fed from a DX3 pro+.
I, also, on a whim, ordered the Apos Gremlin tube amp.
My question is, is it possible to run both the RCA and the XLR output from Geshelli to the A90D, have it be selectable as to which op amp to which I’m listening through the A90D 4.4, then send XLR output from A90D to Gremlin Tube amp for some flavor?

So, to make sure I’m understanding this correctly: You want to know if you can run the Geshelli BOTH as RCA and XLR, so that you can select either of the inputs to the A90D (as a headphone amp), and then occasionally use the XLR output as a preamp into your Gremlin?
If I have that right, I don’t see any reason why you can’t; you can select both the inputs and outputs via the knob or the remote (from the manual):

Yes you can no issues, I have .inexpensive loaded with Burson on Bal XLR and Sparkos SS2590 on SE.
