Topping a90 hiss

i’m not entirely sure if this is supposed to happen but there is a noticeable hiss at high gain with the volume knob maxed

considering i normally use the unit on low gain with the knob at 50%, any noise is imperceptible but i’m just wondering if the high gain noise is standard or not

That is normal, yes.
Because at that point, you got so much gain in the circuit that any EMI in the room within audible frequencies is audible volume wise.

In other words: Physics are merciless
