Interesting! Is this Oxygen 2? Wasnā€™t Oxygen released a couple years ago?
Keen to hear comparisons from anyone who owns both the Mele and the Oxygen. Oxygen might be less bass and more treble and air, but unclear how much of a difference in overall SQ, especially given itā€™s 4-5x the price

Its the oxygen (O2). The one and only

O2 is an upgrade to Mele, but we didnt had a graph to compare. Hbb bought it back and now we do  has he stated, its a true upgrade in everything but confort, since O2 fit is kinda shallow and Mele fit is top of the class.

That makes me rethink my plans about buying an o2, since Mele is not what Iā€™m looking for (I search a iem for acoustic).

Fit is a legit concern. Itā€™s a tiny shallow thing. Tuned like a boss though

Huum interesting. For accoustic Iā€™d pick some DD like Mele or O2.

Im glad you found your preferences tho, if you donā€™t enjoy Mele, theres a chanfe you might not like O2.

single DDs are THE driver setup for acoustic music thoughā€¦due to their timbre.

I donā€™t know: vocals are what i look for for now, but that might. Change with expĆ©rience.

My direct focus is to stay below 50ā‚¬ to try and test different flavours of technicalities/signatures. When I have a better understanding of all that, Iā€™ll know what to look for in higher budget tiers.

Female vocals are also my focus. Iā€™d say either Oxygen or Teas when you feel like upgrading (around 300 each).

But DD will have better timbre, no doubt. I prefer midcentric IEMs like Teas for vocals, tho. Different horses for different tracks, I guess.

Wonder if the next incarnation will be called CO2 O2 :man_shrugging:

Iā€™ve tried the oxygen. The O2 has excellent imaging and 3d sensation. The sound of each instrument is very clean and the details are the king for a 1/DD class. Maybe the female vocals and treble energy given for some people feels a bit too much, including me. Bass feels a bit lacking in quantity and decay is a bit slow. I tried for fast tempo songs in the genre like pop punk, punk rock, Emo, and metal, but itā€™s not suitable, although the separation is very good. So, O2 not for my taste because I donā€™t have any slow tempo songs in my music library. My collection is dominated by male vocal songs. There must be a drum instrument in my song. For female vocals, I prefer mezzo soprano/middle voice vocals and donā€™t like the female vocals which have a shrill soprano voice. My Mele still OTW. Hopefully Meleā€™s tuning can fulfill the tonality that I like and match to my music collection. I didnā€™t expect much for the technicalities at $50. Iā€™m waiting for HBB to collaborate with a brand that has a technical class in the $170-$200 price range.

Hi guys i just order the black color one. Have been wondering have anybody tried silver cable on the mele?

The jelly cable?

Any silver cable is ok. I was wondering since i have tried my friend blon 03 and when he change to a silver cable the bass is much more control and the treble and seperation is better that i can here with obvius improvement

@nymz you take this one for me

I thought cables didnā€™t rlly make a difference, AliExpress sold me a copper 4 core for 1 cent as some weird kinda deal itā€™s coming in a week and my L4ā€™s have a silver 4 core so Iā€™ll do some testing

For cable i got one custom cable silver gold with rhodium plug using mmcx that i connected to my old se215 and the diff is night and day. The se215 originaly veiled sounding but with my cable it is like a veil being lifted. I also tried it with my accustune 1551 cu the red color one and it have the same effect on increasing detail and seperation. For me i do believe cable have on audio. Especially silver cable on a warm iem.
