I was really looking forward to the Olinas given the DD’s provenance but I’ll be honest I wasn’t sure exactly what to be expect. (Disclaimer: I’m shite at describing how audio gear sounds, so I’ll keep it short. Please do check out proper reviews from nymz etc :+1: .) I can at least tell you I’m using SF CP100 L plus balanced Xinhs 4-core graphene cable on M3X with local flacs :grin:.

Fucking hell these are good - ok let me caveat that - fucking hell these are good with metal. Haven’t run through other stuff in my library yet 'cos I got lost after starting with Megadeth’s Rust in Peace and went on a Megadeth > Machine Head > Opeth trip. I might try the mesh filter on the nozzle vent for some other genres but honestly haven’t felt the need to in current listening session.
Olinas are NSFW - listening with them makes trying to work impossible.

Build is fantastic :ok_hand: like a tank, love the finish, fit and comfort excellent and no issues with any scratches on the face plates. For $99 if it’s in your budget imho they are a no brainer.
And yep, I’ve just ordered another set to have as spares just in case I wear these ones out :metal:.

Get ‘em. They’re gooooooood. Listening to one of my go-to test albums “Random Access Memories.” Very impressed so far. Nice bass heft on "Doin’ It Right" and a good balance overall, IMO
Great job tuning these, Chris.
My current top 6 faves in no particular order: Ikko OH10, Fearless S8F, Tripowin Olina, 7Hz Timeless, ThieAudio Legacy 3, Moondrop KPE

I think you are being unfair. He does hype the Anole VX and Monarch MK2. What you pointed out to him is that he never links anything outside hifigo affiliate links (which he acknowledged). That is very different from “never gonna hype a product he doesn’t profit from”.

I think your “rehashing video idea”-critic is valid and your hifigo affiliate link observation holds true. But that doesn’t make someone automatically a bad or even worse: a dishonest reviewer.

EDIT: Also when it comes to crin’s affiliate reviewer critic
 that is one side of the medal
 you could argue that the noble thing is to not post affiliate links. You could also argue that what crin is doing is virtue signaling and profiting of crying about other dishonest reviewers
 it’s all a business in the end. And I for one am not even mad about it. If someone in shilling every single IEM that can affiliate link to
 well they should have the freedom to do so as I have the freedom to not watch them.

I have the same feelings everytime he posts recordings from MEST in those comparison, as it almost sound unfair. I was on the edge already twice at least because of those videos :worried:

I’m just gonna reply once and not continue the argument. You’ve covered my main observations in your reply, but what you said here is the main problem that channel has. He comes to HFGF to dismiss my observations, attempting to paint himself as a honest reviewer. But he’s the reviewer on YT that least disclaims his attachment to businesses aka Hifigo. I would have no issues if he does the disclaimer in his vids like all sponsored reviewers do. He rarely says which sets are review units.

I am running shy on patience though. Linsoul has had the benefit of my money for four days now, and aside from a single “thanks for the cash bro” I’ve not heard hide nor hair of my order. If this keeps up, I may cancel my order and grab those off AVechange

I think it is fair for you to critic his relative lack of transparency, but he is transparent from what I understand, even if he doesn’t make it obvious. Still I get your point.

You say he “paints himself as a honest reviewer” implying he isn’t. Between being dishonest with reviews and being not super obviously transparent about affiliations are around a million shades of grey.

The only thing dishonest I see in all of this are statements like: “He’s never gonna hype a product that he doesn’t profit from”

I get where you are coming from and I think your point of view is valid, but please, let’s keep it real. I am pretty sure it wasn’t your intention, but with statements like these you potentially mislead community members.
