@SirAlice Yes! He got it back earlier today
Great!
Damn! Iām sorry to hear that
This song just popped up on my playlist and my jaw dropped on that intro. Im just amazed by the Olina
I thought if you used normal tape u could wreck the DD? It was suggested to use tape mesh? I donāt need tape with a good ear tip, took me 4 sets to try. CP100 xl worked the best for me.
Just got home and bust opened these bad boys and I donāt even have to do any critical listening to know I love these.
After moving down from headphones to iems I was always on a chase for a good iem and never spent a lot of money on them besides countless cheap iems which makes up to be more money spent than on one decent iem. I always thought before getting into iems there is no way they going to replicate the magic I had with headphones, hence why I never spent a lot of money on iems but these completely proved me wrong.
Now I feel I need to know what the EJ07m is like or I could just get myself another back up of theseā¦
I know that was mentioned somewhere on headfi maybe? I donāt see people using clear tape as it is a lot of bass but I spent a couple of days with it.
Yeah that is what @hawaiibadboy said. I would definitely advise against regular tape based on my experiences with tape. The filter mesh gives me enough bass with the right tips.
Speaking of tips, I have started rolling the stock tips a lot more and have found that the wide bore mediums are almost perfect for me. The soundstage feels more expansive without losing much bass in my opinon. The bass is still present and pumping on rap tracks (Jack Harlow - Nail Tech) and R&B (Mariah Carey - My All) as well. The two negatives I have with the stock tip is 1) vocals on some tracks go way back (Pixies - Where is my mind) but this may just be a track issue. The second is fit for me. I measured the wide bore medium at 12mm and the narrow bore medium at 12.4mm. The narrow bore medium definitely fit better for me.
TL;DR - Does anyone know of tips similar to the wide bore stock tips but in a 12.4-12.6mm size?
With the mesh mod, the bass elevation matches your target, the quantity is exactly what you want. But is the mesh only installed on one side, or on both housings? If only one of them, then you will feel the sound imbalance. Iāve tried it on several IEMs I have. So I have to make a decision to use mesh or not
Yes, both sides. The meshes are removable and I typically use tweezers to place and remove them. I have certainly placed filters on a set and then removed them, placing them back on the sheet.
Blank
āStand by the grey stone when the thrush knocks and the setting sun with the last light of Durinās Day will shine upon the key-hole.ā
The blank cards will be updated with a track not used so keep your #.
Either they got the address wrong or they updated it wrongly. Either ways i think you should contact the carrier. Good luck!
I see a lot of people talking about raising the Bass by plugging the vent hole. Has anyone tried to simply EQ them a little bit to raise the Bass? Seems like that would be far safer than smothering the driver. Most dynamics respond fairly well to EQ.
I have tried and it didnāt have same result. A physical change isnāt going to be the same as digital adjustments plus EQ only works when using that source device. I have mine hooked up to my UTWS3 so Iām connecting to various laptops and my phone throughout the day. Digital EQ doesnāt work for me personally
I agree that digital tuning is not nearly as good as physical tuning. However with drivers that small causing back pressure by plugging the vent holes is probably not good for the life of your driver. I was hoping they would respond decently to EQ. Is the Bass really that anemic on the Olina?
From what Iām reading above, bass is generally a strength, but bassheads might want more, because of course they do!
Thatās why I did the mesh instead of tape. I donāt think there is any risk of damaging the driver with the mesh. The tape I could definitely feel the back pressure and definitely felt like it would damage it long term. I didnāt try PEQ but did try a general bass boost with Poweramp Equalizer and the bass got pretty bloaty
Can you clarify, do you use the mesh tape over both ports, or just one? And if just one, Is it the one closest to the nozzle?
Typically it would be for the one closer to the nozzle. Placing a filter there would direct more air to the main nozzle, which normally increases the bass. I would not put any imporous tape though, then there would not be anywhere for the air to escape when putting on the iems (le driver flex)
